Will they be replacing the door lock too or am I going to have to carry two keys around? I feel like they would but I haven't found anything about it.

Damn, I didn't think about that. My fob is already busted and don't really want to pay to have one programmed.

That's what I'm worried about.

I'm glad they had to do this. I need to get a new key anyway. The only key I have is so worn out that when I put it in one way it works fine, turn it 180° and insert it again and you have to wiggle it to get past lock and I haven't had any spares made because they use the old key to make a new one....it's much too worn out.

That is true, but I can buy a pass key online for little of nothing compared to what the dealership wants. When I got my key fob programmed they tried to sell me another key, they wanted 75 for the key and 25 to program it to the car. I laughed out the door.

Hmmm I wonder what this means for my aftermarket remote start? Don't trust gm people to touch it but I think there's a key buried in the system somewhere to get past the gm anti theft

Has anyone actually had it done here? Last I heard GM is still waiting on parts. The is my last GM vehicle and I'm glad to be getting rid of it

I had a new ignition put in mine a year and a half ago and I didn't need another key. I still have the original one.
