ok, so heres the story, i got a friend a job where i work (my first mistake). the first couple of month went fine, but then he started to turn into a real *******. a few months pass and i put up with it. then he wants me to get his two friends a job here also (my second mistake). so i do, another month passes and seems to go fine. but for about the last three months now they have been "ganging" up on me and saying stupid **** behind my back, i've put up with it but now i'm to my breaking point. i went into the owners office and told him that i was giving my two weeks notice and hes lucky I'm not quiting or getting fired for beating my friends ass. he told me not to. ( becuase i'm building his website, and I'm about to be the only person doing cad). and i forgot to add just recently he cut my pay by 18000 a year.so my question is do i just ******* quit? or really give my two weeks notice. because now hes going to have a "talk" with the stupid mother ******* that are saying the ****. and its going to just get worse. oh and i forgot to add, one day i came to work without my driver light in. and they thought it would be funny to unplug my MAF sensor. so should i just ******* quit?

 

If he is pleading you to stay take advantage. tell him that the pay cut ended up being too much, especially now with those "friends" harassing you. Give him the two weeks, but tell him that under the right circumstances that you may re-consider

agreed, if he is telling you to stay then you are an important employee who needs to be treated that way.

 

I agree, but don't just quit, always put in your two weeks in case you want/need to work for this company again. You are getting paid for two weeks for doing nothing.

Your pay was cut $18,000 per year ? You can still afford to live with a cut like that ? What were you making before 100k and now less ? That is the only way I can see someone affording a hit like that.

secondly if a "friend" removed my maf sensor, he would be removing my foot from his ass.

sounds like your a pushover man no offense. if i ever got cut any amount of pay id be out of there in a second. and also stick w/ the job. they keep harrasing you just file for a law suite and make your 18K that way along w/ back pay haha

lol I probally would of beat some ass by now and told them they should quit or ill come over their house everyday whoop them lol/ definatly seems you might have the boss by the ***** maybe cuz he obviously wants you to finish up your work so let him know you need more dolla dolla bills

 

yeah i feel like i do, but i don't want to push him into a corner.... to me i feel like i should be making alot more money for the work i'm doing. wouldn't you think someone doing cad, and web design should be making more than someone assembling what you design?

 

Biggest mistake getting friends jobs where you work. I did that also and he turned into a real a@#hole after a couple of months, but i got him fired so that cleared up my problem.

Give your 2 weeks notice, but if your boss doesn't want you to leave sit down and negotiate with him...you may never have a better chance to get what you want.

Give two weeks notice and walk away. You shouldn't have been taken advantage of like that.

 

If any company dropped my pay that much I would quit that day. 18k loss is half of some peoples pay which would put them in a desperate situation. I don't know what you do but something sounds fishy with the whole company and story you provided.

For one you made enough money to take an 18k drop in salary yearly

In this company that pays this extraordinate amount of money it is so easy to get a job that you got your friend and a few of his friends jobs

Then in this company they cut your pay however beg you to stay because you are a valued employee ?

Also in said company with said friends these guys tinkered with your car while at work and the company has done nothing for the vandalism ?

Something is totally not adding up. There is a lot we don't know so I can't pass judgement.

 

Sounds like a messed up deal. two weeks and adios. I don't think you'll have any luck getting THREE guys fired that you helped get hired AND get your higher salary back.

go to his office and say you still wish to give your two weeks. you were upset about the recent pay cut and now the situation you are in with fellow employees has made a difficult situation too unbearable. if he really wants to keep you, he will offer you back your salary and promise to do something with those guys. if you play hard he may even offer you more, but dont get greedy

 

yes. give the bossman your 2 weeks. its just a job. people change jobs, even change careers, like they change underwear. if you are decently skilled in CAD you shouldnt have trouble finding work. life is too short to put up with ********, and that pay cut was ridiculous.

 

Give them their two weeks and get the hell out of there. I don't care how much you were making before, a pay cut of $18k would have me instantly leaving and looking for another job.

i gave 2 weeks notice, and he seemed pissed at first, and then he was like well i will talk to them and i will look at what i can pay you and what not. i told him that he doesn't pay insurance and that its hard to live/work like this.and he just kept saying welll I'll let you know about what i can do.

 

Good job. Sit back, if he doesn't let you know by the end of this week about the pay, say bye bye next week.
