Ingalls?

Hey guys, I was just wondering...about those of you who have the ingall stiffy ETD, how do you like it? I am thinking about purchasing one, but I am such a freaking scardy-cat when it comes to mods...(Messing something up).. and plus it's my Daily driver. The only reason I am asking is pretty much to see how the vibrations go along with it, and how hard it is to install&adjust it?! Thanks guys!

It vibrates a little, mostly in the low gears in low rpm, and at idle. Also when the dampner is cold its a little noisy. But these are very very minor set-backs for how well it works to eliminate wheel hop. It's awesome! Very very easy to install (there's a good how-to on the site). Takes like 20 mins. I'd recommend it.

I just installed mine on Friday and I love it... "the wheels on my car go spin, spin, spin"

Ok, that sounds reasonable..Never heard of the noises... and it's getting close to getting cold here, but overall this sounds good.

true but you dont have to worry about the mount bending or rusting and plus you can get the mount in any color you want and make your engine bay look better

Mine creaks when it gets moderately cold 40-50f . It's a great little tool to help with wheel hop and it seems to tighten up the motor /clutch response to your left foot 8) . The vibrations aren't bad on the soft setting , they get progressively more noticeable when you go to the tighter adjustments.

Metal beinding has been the biggest issue we have seen with Ingalls. We have not had any structural issues with the Turbo Tech Racing Solid mount...

personally i like the ingalls, i just installed mine sunday. i left it at the factory setting. i get more vibrations at idle, but honestly i don't really mind, not that noticible. but it definatly feels like it helps the wheel hop situation (only got on it once, while turning, no hop at all), and shifting feels a lot smoother too. i think its worth it. the moter mounts do look really kick ass though too.

i have my ingalls set to 11, the stiffest is 10. and i don't feel any vibrations at all. unless i just have a weird car, or people don't install them right or something. idle, no vibes. driving, no vibes. and 1st is actually useable now.

installation is cake, seriously....and as for the vibrations, you'll feel a change at first and it'll feel a little weird to you but after a few hours of driving time you'll be used to it, and it will help get some power to your wheels and help alot with wheel hop

Hrmmm

Ok either I'm a really bad stick shift driver or a really good one or I'm not that reckless when I drive because I have never hoped my wheels when taking off the line when racing or just trying to take off fast. I always get a clean take off with a ton of force. Once in a while if its wet out I'll get the tires to slip or bark, but never hopping, and I do know what you are talking about when you say hopping because in high school a friend of mine had an escort that would hop like crazy. Shifting to second & third I'll get a tiny bark from the tires sometimes but nothing noticeable.

yea, you can get the tires not to hop while accelerating somewhat fast. in a stage 2 with 2.9 or more the only way to do that is to say bye to the clutch.

It's not taking off that i have a problem with , its at about 5500rpm in 1st that the tires start breaking loose, then hop and you have to either pedal it or short shift . The ingall's really helps with this . Mine did this stock and it's only got worse with the stage kit/ smaller pulley .

Yeah, currently I'm still sitting at stock. Going to get stage 2, 2.9 pulley, exhaust, CAI, & few other mods done to it once I put it in the garage for the winter. I just broke 17k so she's still pretty new to me.

Motor mounts and tranny bushings. How hard are those to install? I'm guessing the engine and tranny need to be removed in order to put them in? If I were to have a shop do this, what $$ amount is an average price for this?

Only about $200 for the Engine Mount and tranny bushings from www.TurboTechRacing.com

Takes about 1 hour to install everything. Just basic hand tools

oh ok sweet, so I don't need to take the engine out or anything.... Engine mount and tranny bushings just sound like they need the engine and trans taken out to install.
