You noticed! It's a aluminum foil box that I set on th three information guages when I park in the sun and don't have the time to put a sun screen in the whole window.
The info guages are, of course, exclusive to the Stingray version.

Found them on Ebay on a buy it now for only 18 bucks. There were some other sellers with the same heavy duty vinyl 7 year life lids for twice that much but I figured how can they be worth so much more? Plus they were satisfaction guaranteed for returns. I don't buy anything anymore from E if it can't be returned. I have about 200 diecast collectible Corvettes (no one ever made a Cobalt) most of which I "stole" in auctions by sitting there right at the closing bell and duking it out in the last 30 seconds. If the Vette existed, even in concept form, I got it. But AGAIN, I DIGRESS!!!!!! Bad habit. Yea, the lids were 18 smakers, were precisley pre cut from 3M heavy vinyl - they had colors too, but I'm not one for overkill -- ahem ---- right --- so I sprayed the lenses w/standard water&deterg mix, slid them lids on , squeegeed them out... and they seem to be durable. You prolly know this, but, if u go on Ebay under the "everything" catagory search and punch in chevy cobalt accessories, they got a boatload of tinkering stuff for your idle hands.
