wow that sucks. how old are you???

were i am we have a goverment based insurance company that doesnt descriminate based on age, they base it only on your driving record. you have the base insurance, and for every year of safe driving (no at fault accidents) you get a 5% discount, once you hit 40% you get 1% per year till you hit the max of 43%. if you get in an at fault accident, depending what % fault you have, they will move you down 6 ranges, meaning if you had a 30% discount you go back to 0. if your lower than 30%, you can actualy end up with a surcharge (done 5% incriments).

now that thats out of the way, my balt would cost me $4000 per year with no discount, im at 30%, so im around $2700/ year, or $236 per month.

I turned 24 back in november and then called asking about my age discount and was told that it doesnt apply until 25. I have State Farm.

I have now changed my deductable to $1000. I lowered it during hurricane season.

I would love to know how much someone around the age of 18-22 pays for their insurance in NJ. I'm 18 and won't have my balt for a few months because I'm waiting on the T/C.

I live in NJ so I get royally f*cked by insurance companies. And I'm only 19 so that doesn't help. I pay about $260/month, but that's with some major coverage...
