Insurance Question...

Hey, i pay 350 a month for my insurance, and it's beginning to hurt me financially..

me and my girlfriend just looked up how much it'd cost to have the car insured in her name and itd only be 125 a month, ...

but the car is financed in my name, would she be able to insure it in her name??
has anyone ever done this b4?

you can do a lean. have the title transferred to her with your name on the lean. make up a payment plan of like $50 or so every month that your girlfriend gives to you. itll be under her name and she can add it to her policy. i just did this myself

Depending on insurance company they may ask that you be added as a secondary driver which will hike the rate again anyways, make sure you look into this as well. My friend had an M3 and after his g/f moved in they made both her and himself be listed as primary/secondary drivers and the insurance went through the flippin' roof.

i use esurance and they didnt ask me anything about secondary drivers and they have SUPER low prices. i have a not so good record and ive had other insurance companies blow me off or have super high rates like 400 450 a month. esurance uses some basic company to scan your driving record and it barely shows anything. i currently have an actual 3 offenses on my record right now but the company esurance uses just sees 1 simple speeding ticket. I truthfully told them all of the things ive done and they quoted me for $300 a month with DAMN good coverage and at the very end they changed the price to $245 because the DMV record only shows 1 thing instead of 3. So theyre amazing and forgiving.

be happy you dont live in mass. i just re-did my insurance, but with my old insurance company i was paying $350 a month with only one at fault accident and a red light violation on my record! and i still didnt have full coverage.

now it looks like ill be paying $200 with my new company, still not full coverage, but ill be driving for 6 years in november, so my payments would be bumped down to $100. once that happens ill go for full coverage, and probably be paying right under $200 again.

basically in ma, before youve been driving for 6 years, if you have ANYTHING on your record insurance will be insanely expensive especially if your driving a new car. and i have an almost perfect credit score too.

Nope. Strictly base. I don't have any tickets or anything, and it's only in my name. Most of it's due to my age.

Plus, that's nothing. When I got the car a year ago, I was paying $264 for the same insurance.
