Question Insurance on SS

I currently have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT and am looking to upgrade to an SS sometime soon. I am 18 and have no tickets and my record is clean, I am also female. I live in Findlay, Ohio.

My question is how much more would my insurance go up.. I'm just looking for an estimate!

Depends on what SS you buy. my 06 SS was a lot cheaper than my 08 cause my insurance didn't deem my 06 a High performance vehicle. still, I had a few tickets and my insurance was 180 a month full coverage for just me. my 08 would have been around 250-300 a month but its dropped now since I hit 25

Depends a lot on the area too, but I'm only paying about $20 more per month in my 09 SS vs my previous 07 LS

pics or you're full of ****!

the main thing that's going to affect your insurance cost is the fact that's you're still under 25 years of age. Currently with my lsj (ss/sc) I am paying less than 100 bucks a month, and that's full coverage.

You didn't actually post the question, rather stated some facts.

Regardless, I'm a 21 year old male, no driving record, did driver's ed, I pay $130 a month for my TC coupe.

Play nice with the new lady!

Insurance really is dependant on so much. Your best bet would be to contact insurance companies with specific vehicle info

It could go both ways... Either you pay a lot for a "Sporty" car... or you pay less because of the "Safety features"

Just search AutoTrader for a SS/SC or SS/TC, take the VIN and get an insurance quote from an insurance company's website, it's free and it will give you a preliminary figure on what you'll be paying.

Good luck!

I'm paying $180 and I'm very unhappy about that! I have 3-4 speeding tickets, 3 this year and one a couple years ago, not sure if the other dropped or not

No one to blame but myself!

I mean it's kind of hard not to get overtaken by the thrill of the cobalt... I understand and it's the cars fault

It is a fun car, but if you knew me personally, you'd know I don't drive fast normally. The first 2 were me datalogging my car (hints why I hate datalogging, canned tunes FTW). 3rd was me not paying attention to the speed limit and following the flow of traffic and I hit a speed trap and they pulled all 3 of us over. Was going 12 over

The older one was in my Integra and not sure if it's off my record or not, 90 in a 55! Ruined my year, but got it reduced to careless driving or something like that. So technically 3 speeding tickets, but 4 infractions!

I usually drive the speed limit but I have an LT so I can see myself driving a little fast in the SS when I get one.. but I've got to be careful.. my family has a Chevy dealership in Ohio and I cant be getting a lot of tickets..

07 SS, 24 male with no moving violations and I'm paying 180 a month for full coverage-.-

If you insure under your parents tho and your a student, there may be additional discounts to lower your rate. When I bought my car my insurance told me my insurance would be about 30$ cheaper if I went under my parents...but I wanted my car in my name only

21 and I pay $157 for my SS and beater neon. HHR has full coverage and beater has liability.
Insurance companies prolly look at a cobalt being more of a risk then a HHR though. I also had 3 tickets when I was 18.
