Intake help save on gas on SS/SC?

Hi everyone im looking to try to save some money at the pump on gas im currently spending about 7-10$ on gass everyday thats about 3 gallons of 93 ocatan gas. I get about 20-25 miles per gallon and thats for in town. I drive about 40-50 miles a day. In my cobalt LS I was getting about 100 miles per $10-12 dollars and i was driving about 100 miles a day at that time. I got an apex muffler on right after I got my car. My friend told me if I get an Intake that would help save me on gas but I dont know im not sure about that would'nt it be because its giving you more horsepower wouldnt it be using more gas? I need help on any suggestions on how I can save some money at the pump or get more miles out of my gallons?

No, because you will definetly want to hear the SC once you get that intake

well i'm no expert, but i think it's a yes because when you make it easyer to breath you make your engine work more efficiently. I think things like intake/exhaust give you hp aswell as mpg and actual engine upgrades such as smaller pully, fule injectors(obviously) and camshafts are the things that effect mpg. but like i said, im no expert lol

It's a totally different story with a forced induction car. This would be true on a NA car bu not on the SC. Once the MAF senses more air moving into the intake it will try to compensate by sending more fuel to the injectors to avoid a lean condition. The Ecotec is very efficient at moving tons of air so it's more fuel that is needed, not more air to make more power in these particular engines. Rob from Intense is running high 12's with a STOCK airbox.
