Intercepter Questions

well i finayl got my intercepter into and its awesome! the shift light is totaly baller!!!!!

But i've got some questions about it.

1)what does MAF LB/M mean?...how is that important?
2)how is MAF Frequency important?...whats it mean?
3)SC inlet pressure..i know what it is but i dont see how thats important.

PICS!

The MAF sensor works by outputting a frequency signal that is proportiona to the airflow through the meter. MAFF v. MAF lb/min is ultimately used for fueling calculations...

I can't take credit for it, its from my HPTuners, hahaa

Also, from what I understand, your SC inlet pressure is just another way to measure restriction or lack there of.

i'm lost on these but i did get an answer on the SC inlet pressure.

I had to scale my MAFF v. airflow table when I was adjusing my LTFTs. Also, I notice high MAFFs at WOT. Like 10000 high. I just like to be able to look at the numbers and have an idea that if I get a hiccup in the middle of a WOT run, then I need to do some further tuning. The ratio of your MAFF v. MAF lb/min gives you the equivalent of one side of your spark advance tables (The g/cyl side) which is plotted against your RPM and then has a certain timing value at each given point.

I know this picture is super blurry but it shows just how bright the shift lights are

And this one is my stock boost gauge at 5700 RPM in 2nd gear

MAF frequency over 11000 may cause damage to the PCM. This reading is more important to monitor if using a MAF-T or mini-AFC, not with so much so with a reflashed PCM (such as GM's stage kit or Intense/HPT).

My guage died after 4 days (and I'm not the only one either) so keep an eye on it for the next while. Try to keep it away from direct sunlight for extended periods of time (i.e. cover it with a cloth or sunshade when parked for a while).

This might be a stupid question... Do you need a pod with this, if so where did you find it?

He ghetto rigged a 2 gauge pod for another car and screwed it into the stock pillar.

haha! nice gauge pumpkin! :P

I just installed mine last night. Mine is so ghetto rigged. I took out the stock boost gauge. The 2 screws on the gauge don't even come close to the mount the stock gauge was on. So what I did was tape the gauge to the pillar on the inside. It's so ghetto...I will fix it soon. It's just temporary. But this gauge is amazing.

I have one question: When I hit the performance mode, it said rpms must be at 0. Now when I turn my car on the accessory, and then turn the engine on, the gauge shuts off and goes back on (which clears the gauge). I have the power wire wired up to the pink wire from the stock harness that plugs into the stock boost gauge. How can I get to use the performance mode?

No known pods have been made for the SS yet. Autometer is trying to fab some up for us guys with non-side airbags (2-3 in a pillar). Of course you can always make your own pods.

makeing them is easy it just takes time!

the intercepter is by and far the best gauge out there in my world....it tracks everythign and more!

thanks for the answers on MAFF and MAF lb/m questions.

at least i know where to get the G/CYL equations and info once i get my HP tuner set up.

MERC---I hate you!(jk,jk) just cuz you have the most coolist headlights EVER on a cobalt! dosnt mean you gotta hate on us HID wiht our projecter people!

time go play with gauge!

memphisr24--sry i cant help i used the power wire i ran for my in-car neons to power this BUT that wire is ran from the radio ACC circiut inside the car.

The gauage actually comes with a U shaped bracket but I could only get one nut on because the stock pod is too deep to get my fingers on the other side but one nut will hold the unit put.

I think you misread the gauge - it states that the car must be at 0 mph, not RPM. You have to be completely stopped before you can use this feature. It's a cool feature though - best run I have was 13.96 at 103 mph. Enjoy!!!

Mine didn't come with a bracket....It came with the two screws sticking out of the gauge with one nut on each screw.

lol I used this shiny silver tape that you peel the back off of....It's pretty stron. The gauge sits a little off though. Kinda crooked. One of these days i'm going to have to fix it. It kinda bothers me but i'm too lazy to take the whole pillar off again just to fix it. I have to zip tie the cord that goes to the obd II port because of the extra slack.
