It's official.

I turned in my 2009 Cobalt SS Sedan yesterday. It was a long time coming so it wasn't so bad, but it sucks nonetheless. It was a baddass little car and I was proud to own one. Of course, I didn't turn it in without laying down its first real burnout and getting it up to 125 for giggles.

At any rate, so long Cobalt, but I'll still be around living vicariously through ya'lls cars.

Turn in = lease?

Either that or got behind on payments and turned it in instead of letting them repo it.

Agreed, but some people swear by it. Why, I'll never know.

Yep. They tried to pressure me into going with a lease on my SS. Actually got pissed off when I did a straight finance deal.

haha, yeah, I lost my job last September, I've tried to hold on but in Feb the payments just grew to be too much. I bought it, 21k OTD with 0% financing It took a lot of deliberating, but I really need to get things straightened away and get back on my feet.

Thanks for the response, keep on pushing the platform!!

I feel your pain. I'm unemployed as of Friday. Luckily I paid off my car years ago when times were a lot more stable. Everyone always pokes and prods me to trade it in on something else, but I want to keep it absolutely as long as possible.

Yup. It will go to dealer auction. It's not a lease car, it's a repo car. They usually will not tell you where or when it'll go up. I know someone who had a car repo'd in October, it didn't go to auction until February. The only way to really get a hold of one is to get in with a dealer that happens to go to the auction the car goes to regularly and have some sort of agreement with them to buy it for you.

Yeah, biggest downside to buying auction is 1) you have to have a dealer's license to get in and 2) you've gotta have the money up front to pay.
