Jacking up your Cobalt

I forgot to post this up when I changed my wheels.

When I put my winters on I got the car up and down no problem.

Doing my summers however, on the front passenger side the ridge just inside the sideskirt that you use as your jackpoint bent down!! WTF??

Anyways, where the hell do I jack it up now?? On the flat spot right next to it?

^^what he said, just get a real jack and use the frame as your lift point. After seeing a few threads on the stock jack failing I wouldn't trust it anyways.

Besides, compared to what you dropped on the car, the money spent on a better jack could be considered a wise investment.

I assume you are using the trunkjack if you are lining up on that ridge,,, if you are using a real jack, then that is why that ridge collapsed.

Lol... ****.

I am using a real jack. It has notches though, so I lined that up. I guess now we know why my ridge is bent. Should I jack on the frame right next to the ridge?

on the forward edge of the frame it is reinforced. You will see additional material in that area

Haha...I did the same thing to my Pontiac. The frame right next to the ridge will do fine. That's technically where the trunk jack should put pressure, anyway. The J-shape on it just sits over the ridge.
