New post
Well since I recently upgraded to a SS/TC, Sean dropped down to a 2.85" pulley from smoothflow, Marshall got a cat back and intake we all decided it was time to get back on to the dyno again. Marshall ended up not dynoing due to his clutch started slipping worse on the way there. I went from almost 241hp to 242.5hp and from 222tq to 242.5tq in the TC. So pretty much 1hp improvement with peak power, but over all hp the TC concord all. Now the TQ is were the TC really makes the improvement 22tq improvement over the SC but only is 22tq improvement it carries more over the entire powerband. By dropping down to the 2.85" he picked 2hp and best of all 9tq. I think Scott with his 07 Sliverado w/ intake had the top HP numbers with like 270hp or something like that. All in all it was a pretty good day for everyone and we had a great day doing flybys in front of the shop with the Cobalt's and Brad's new Corvette. Here are some pics. I will add some vids and more graphs tomorrow!
Graph the TC against both Sean's dyno sessions.

Ive done a few tweaks and I think the car will make more power. You can tell were my car stopped making power(about 6600rpm) and I believe that is due to my plugs have to big of a gap. I dont expect it to be a huge gain but I will get some power back. You can see were the other cars are still making power when mine dives. With it adjusted the miss at high rpm is gone.

When do you wanna go back? If we finish on Tuesday we have to wait around until all our truck come to load our ****. I guess we need to get you another mod first uhh. Also we should see if we can get stu to come with.

The car seems to be running good so far but I really haven't go to drive it all week. If I get off of work early tomorrow I will do a few pulls and see if I need some adjustments.

Here is the link to the throttle body I was telling you about last night. How to install a big bore throttle body for cheap. If you could talk to that guy that will tune and see how much he charge to change that one parameter I would do it and go back to the dyno and see what the gains are.

That is a perfect dyno for you because it is so close and he will make you deal. The whole deal with a dyno is that you use the same one for all your mods so that you get a more consistent number. You could go to one dyno and it say you have 150hp and then go right across the street to another and it say you have 300hp. Thats why I wanted to go back once I tuned up my car and fixed the problems and see how much power I was loosing from it. If I go to another dyno I will never know.

Well lets hope that holds true, but you saw what happened with us. The GM tune is bad but not that bad. We both had intake, and cat-back with our stg 2. Even with the corrections that I made with mine I might hit the 250 mark with the 2.85" pulley if I am lucky. I hope that works out and would kick ass if it holds true. I just don't want you to spend all that money and be disappointed and think it was a waste. In the grand scheme of things peak HP doesn't mean ****, its how much your car can hold for the longest time and that's what the bigger injectors and pulleys will do for you as you can see with sean and I's cars. I think the next mod for me if I don't get rid of the car soon is do a little porting on the exhaust mani because it will be free.

well, don't know how I missed this thread for as long as I did.
talking about mods....I'm looking at my Clear Image strut tower brace that I've been waiting about 3 months for, this past weekend I put on the el-cheapo Home Depot oil catch can, and sitting at home is my prototype of hatrickstu's cooling mod, I think I'm going to get another tank and try something a little different, but before I decide, I'm going to leak-test tonight the one I made.
I also changed my plugs, that number one plug made me nervous being out of gap, cuz when I went to regap it, it felt weak...last thing I need is an electrode to break off and score my cylinder wall or worse.
So nothing really power adding, but I'm hoping the cooling mod works, it'll add 2.5 more quarts of fluid to the system
