Jumping a car with the balt
the post in the fuse block is virtually the same as your battery. the only difference is that when jumping off this terminal instead of directly on the battery is that there is a very large amount of current passing through the line that goes from the battery (+) to the post in the bay, but this is always the case for example when you're starting your own car, and there is no harm done.
First time I tried to use the ground that your "suposed" to use, wich is a bolt on the left strut tower. That didn't work very well because its painted and the paint is non-conductive.
So I sucessfuly used the latch in front that the hood hooks into when it's closed.
And I used the Postive post on the fuse block no problem either time.
It keeps sparks away from the battery, so in a way its safer,
however it DOES provied a LONGER path of current since the battery is in the trunk so there is more
resistnce so it might take a lil more to jump, but both times it worked fine.
The second vehical I had to leave hooked up for like a n hour with my car idleing
to charge it's battery, since it was WAY dead (2Vdc left) and afterwards my jumper
cables were warm from all the current but once the battery got up charged on the
second vehical, it cranked up.
Dont listen to these guys, you can jump a car at the battery, at the Power Distribution center or at the Red jump starting post. any unpainted piece of metal will do for a ground. I would be interesting to see someone jumpstart a new Jeep Cherokee at the battery, seeing its under the front passengers seat.

yea i def jumped and had my balt jumped by that post. your an idiot if u wanna remove the net, empty your trunk, lift up the cover just to jump ur car. i can see doing that if ur on a highway or something like that. but i would def use the simpler, easy accesable port in the engine bay.
