Just realized...

....that the paper i signed when i picked up the car had an extra $1100 tax, and a 600 service agreement fee added to it. Neither of these numbers were ever talked about. They weren't on the original write ups when I signed them, so when I went to pick up the car I was told they are the same numbers as the previous agreed upon numbers (papers i signed the day before)...but my ******* didn't recheck and put too much faith into the dealership I was dealing with and trusted the guy without checking for other fees. None of these fees were listed or even mentioned or talked about on previous signed sheets. I asked a billion questions about extra fees and comparing paying for the car in full or financing...and the guy told me each time there is no difference, just the interest rate you have to deal with.

Basically somehow they charged me sales tax for the original write up and then took that total from the original write up and charged me sales tax again, along with a 600 service fee. So i bascially got f'ed out of 1,840 dollars...I thought I was being so observant, but when it came to picking up my car and that final paper I had to sign, I didn't even think to question the numbers because they were talked about and agreed upon previously and on financial agreement papers that i signed.

Can anyone explain how they can charge me sales tax of 5.1% then on the financial plan charge me another Wisconsin Sales Tax? Both of them came to ~1,100. Totalling around 2,200. Am I missing something here? Besides me being a ******* and not checking the final paper?

Please understand that I am already pissed off at myself for not checking the final signitured sheet when i picked up my car...Let me know if the two sales taxes makes sense to you when financing the car? All in all, its a 1,840 dollar lesson learned....the hard way...even if it is totally legit on their part.

When I was signing my papers they said that they would use my bank and I would be the primary and my Dad the co-signer. When the payment book came in the mail it was from another bank with my bank's interest rate and I was the Co-signer and my Dad was the primary. The stuff didn't come in the mail for over a month, so I never had a chance to correct it.

i wish i could explain it by showing you guys, but i am so livid right now its not even funny...

bascially they did all the taxes, and charges and calculated a number which i was completely happy with. then when i go to pick up the car, because it was traded from another dealer, i have a newley typed up financial plan with my interest rate and everything on it. on this paper they took the total from the previous sheet and then taxed it again and then subtracted my money down, downpayment, and rebates...and added a service agreement fee...the final number wasnt what i was paying for the car in full it was already calculated with my downpayment and the money i put down on the car...so i didn't notice the change in price.

I got it from Newman's in Cederburg...I haven't talked to them about it yet, im getting warentee work done tuesday and plan on talking to them then.

Thats bullshit one dealer might charge aservice agreement fee of 50 and another 200 bucks, been down this road before, what you do is take it(the paper) to another dealership and inquire about, also phone Gm customer service, they hate it when the dealerships do these things, anyways a dealer one time charged me 200 bucks and gm had them reinburse 150.00 of it

If they taxed you twice and you can prove it you have a lawsuit. The govt will also come down on their ass too because double taxing is illegal. You definately need to get all your paper work together and march your ass in there and get it fixed. If not threaten them with legal action. Don't be a *****, stand up for yourself.

I say walk in there, and kick your salesman in the teeth. they should not have charged you tax on the taxed price.

H&H CHEVROLET in OMAHA NEBRASKA tried to pull this **** with me when I bought my 2002 Camaro SS only they also snuck in a $2,300 death or disability insurance plan too.

I did not OK or initial anything regaurding the insurance or extended warranty.

The insurance was $2,300 and the warranty was another $600.

I lived two hours away but made it there in 1 hour 35 minutes, I asked to speak with the sales manager and finance guy now.

I informed them of my issue and that I have bought more than 23 vehicles since I was 16 and this would be the last I bought from them.

Well to make a long story short, I walked out of there with a check for $2,900 and made a 42 year old guy cry.

yeah i dont get how they can do that...really it doesnt make sense, but i was dumb and didnt notice the $1100 dollar difference after all the downpayments and money down was taken off...

i'm still furious about this...all i know is that I will be giving them **** with all my warentee work.

do you know if they can do anything about the headlights? the fitment on the bottom seems a bit gappy? didn't notice this at first, but you can see past the front part of the headlight cover and see the stupid plastic crap inside...

any more thoughts about the double taxing?

Like Cody said, I would go back and show them what they did wrong and demand reimbursement or a logical explination.

You need to prove with the papers that they double taxed you. If you can prove it they will have to give back your money or start going up the food chain.

dont kick him in his teeth, kick him in the ***** and take a pic so we can laugh about it, jk,
in all seriousness, dont leave until you get an answer, and get them to put it in righting if you have to, with there letterhead, that way if you have to go to court you have exactly their reason for doing this, so if they say something different just wipe that paper out and ketch them in a lie, that would look real nice in court if it goes that far

with more investigation and number crunching i found that they didn't double tax me, although the tax numbers were different on each sheet... there were a few smaller chargers that I didn't know about, but it's not as serious as i thought it was. i'm happy again!
