K&N Intake
K&N Intake
I was wondering if anybody has installed a K&N intake on their Cobalt. I have a 2.2 L engine, so I'm not looking for a huge difference; however, I am wondering if it will at least give me a little more torque.
you'll notice a little more top end.. it'd be like you running trying to breath through a straw, then doing it again without the straw in your mouth.
but again, not too much, it will just have more grunt to it....

I figured I wouldn't notice much. All I'm looking to do is to have a little more pickup/throttle body response. I'm not having any problems or anything, but quicker response will always be a good thing in a bad spot. I was wondering which mods I could do that wouldn't kill my gas mileage, engine life, or wallet.
By the way thank you for the warm welcomes everybody!

I just installed mine last week!
I have the K&N Typhoon.
There's not much of a real power difference, but as said before you do get a little more in the top end.
It does make your engine louder and sound badass though lol
I also noticed my engine runs 10 degrees or so cooler now
Hope I helped! Welcome!

I'm talking about SAI as in Secondary Air Injection, not a CAI as in Cold Air Intake lol. It was an emission put on a lot of the base model cobalts. I am well aware that the injen can be converted because I want one but I have SAI and the K&N is the only one compatible, unless you tune it out and get a header that doesn't have a hole in it lol.
