Keep the SS or time to move on!?

long story short. Blew my motor. Car body has 38k miles.
Car mods are/were/is

bc coils
xxx sway bar powell
powell control arm bushings
powell rotated trans mount
ottp trans upper mount
powell interior harness bar
custom SS engraved front tow hook
ottp return style fuel system
450 lph In tank pump
160# injectors
s256et BW turbo direct from bullseye power
upper and lower charge piping.
Zzp exhaust manifold
saab intake manifold
zzp intercooler
dual aero gauges
aem wideband
aem oil pressure gauge
30/30 mech gauge
cluster dual pod / triple pillar
BPS short throw shifter.
Custom blue SS knob. Long ago group buy
custom engraved sunroof switch
blue recaro seats from a redline. Front n back
custom 3 inch turbo back borla exhaust all vband
zzp stage 3 reverse split cams
82# springs / titanium retainers
2.0 forged short block (no good)
ported head (no good)
ati dampener
gmpp balance shafts
f35 lsd
Tjin carbon trunk
es2 with MT tires

now my question is. Do I keep going and drop a running 2.1l in the car or call it quits. This is going to be the 3rd or 4th motor I'm putting in it. I also have another 2.1l short block with Carrillo Rods and 11:1 comp wiseco Pistons ready for build. I'm really tired of putting in the wrench time into this car. What do you guys think it's worth after all the work is done. Or prior to the work. I have everything needed but man it's 2017. Car is 10 years old. It still has a decent paint job since all I did was race it. I was looking into a 4 door lnf for commuting but they are rare. Would somebody want to buy the car as it sits with all the stuff I have for it. ?

Go tvs with the 2.1l, I'm assuming you've don't headwork or plan on a port and polish. Who is your tuner?

1st motor the spark plug shot out. Covered under good will warranty
2nd motor was questionable. No oil in it from 1 day to the next. Spun bearing and what not. No warning nothing. Drove like normal. 6 quarts dissapeared without a trace.
3rd motor zzp coil packs did not spark and flooded the cyl. Tested the coils on another car and would get random miss at high rpm. Stock coils in and no issues.
So I'm on my 3rd motor that went kaboom and now I have a 4th and soon 5th unless somebody buys them.

Also it doesn't help i run all the boost from the turbo since I like to live dangerously and with smiles on my face when I go wot. Made 513 on 27 psi on my 2.0l. Was shooting for 600 on the 2.1l but meh.

My car did that. One day no oil. Filled it and checked every week and the level was the same for a year. Then last year all of a sudden no oil anywhere. Spun a bearing. It sucked. And now it's getting hacked to pieces so it knows my pain.

Drop a built LSX in yours. They don't die

It all comes down to what you want to do and if you are bored with the car. If you still have fun with it, then stick with it. If you are looking at getting something different and won't leave it stock, you will have to figure in mod money on the new vehicle. Seems like you have already done a lot to the cobalt, which is a shame to just part out. I would load another motor in it and keep it.

It's not that I'm bored of it. I'm just tired of all the BS the car has put me thru. Motor is about as equal to all the trans issues I had. Which were finally resolved just for this to happen. I can simply just laugh at my bad luck

Luis- ever think about building it and tuning it for just a little less output than what you are trying to achieve? If you have it running pretty high output and are driving it hard, things are gonna fail. All cars have a weak link, but if you run it hard and you aren't getting what you want out of the cobalt then maybe it's time to move on to v8 power? I guess it boils down to what will satisfy you.

if your not putting another motor in it, definitely part out. You will make way more money and its definitely worth the extra time.

ehhh here is the new old toy along with another I have my eyes on.

Wheels were the first things I did on it. Been trying to have issues sorted out on her.
The other car I have my eyes on is a CTS V sedan. I have another baby on the way and well I don't get to enjoy driving the coupes much. The mustang is just a total drag car. Plans are to cut the ****** up and boost it and shoot for 10's all day

Not a huge fan of that body style of mustang but they make decent drag cars. The ctsv would be a nice car, but they are pricey for a good low mileage one.
