launching the 2.2. question.???
when i have my rims on w/ the better tires ( nankang ns-1) when i do my launching i get a lot of wheel hop. but when i have my old continental tires on w/ the steel rims (stock) i just spin the tires a lil bit. im wondering what would be the less of the 2 poisons to choose from? either wheel hop or spinning the tires? it seems to me through my experience that the spinning of the tires seems a lot more smoother on take off and seems a bit faster but when i have my rims on the tires dont squeel going into 2ed gear like they do w/ my oem rims? any suggustions. thanks

Your new tires are getting better traction and dont break loose as easy which is one reason your getting the wheel hop and they arent chirping when going into second gear. Try getting an engine brace thing that one of our sponsors here sells. (I know it works for the LSJ so I would assume it will work for the 2.2)

stop launching at 6grand and you wont have that problem....be a little easier on the launch, jesus this car isnt a race car
if you wanted more power and somethign able to handle it, shoulda got an SS

It was sort of a joke.....not really, I know people who think they have to launch at 5-6K to pull anything, then they come back w/f*cked up axles/front end parts........
Try feathering your clutch a LITTLE bit more.....dont just drop it, of course your gonna have wheel hop then.....launch at like 2200 and feather just a TADDD more.......thats what i do in my Mazda...
