library.alldatapro.com ???

hey. i know those of you who have gone to an automotive class know about this....

or some who work in dealerships have heard of it

alldata is a site you go on to find out anything about any car made in the last 20 years.... sure they miss a few things, but on newer cars like the cobalts, it will have just about everything you need to know about it...

for example, i need to know the torque specs for my wheels, trans mounts, and engine mount. so i go on alldata and it tells me

the only problem is subscription is expensive as ****....
anyone know a way around it, like torrent? or anyone have an account they want to share.? or something? haha. it was a great program i used when i used to work at a shop, and now that i dont have access to those resources, i feel bummed out. google doenst have the answers, and it gets tiring to search on CSS forums all the time, and some times, i dont even find what i need. lol

also, if you know of any other programs like alldata, let me know.

ya I don't think anyone would be willing to give there PW to their account. Its like a $5000 account depending on how many users you have and if you go for everything including auto body lol. I know they offer subscriptions for individual vehicles for a year for like $26.95 or something like that. Its not a bad buy and you get everything that a regular shop gets minus the shop hours of course

hey if you get the hours that's a killer price lol. I just don't think they would throw that in mainly because its more of the repair side and not for the estimate side.

I has the autoboy which covers it all. I use it all the time at work. Only thing they would do if I put the password out is change it give it to me again then keep process going.

I don't see why anyone would want the whole database, to ad another car is only 17bucks if your working on someone else car make them pay for it ,that's what i do.

It dose have everything, Because I'm pretty sure its the same database.
It just doesn't have the shop management stuff

everything but bolt sizes, and im sure thats a liability thing most manuals don't from my experience. It even has prices for some replacemnt parts, hrs that should be charged ,and skill level. and it has a feater to add your own notes.

Dealers have there own database.
Most other shops will use a service like alldata. Alldata may not have everything but ,i spent a good weekend just looking over all the info it has on my car. everything from oil changes to to how to shim the transmission during an overhaul. way more info than the average diyer is ever going to use.

for me it worth the 30bucks just to check it out. if you search google you can find discount codes ,i think i paid like 15bucks.

Yep..... SI is above and beyond anything else out there. I've used both as well and the only reason to use alldata....... is because you can't get SI.

I really miss my dealerworld account..... I didn't realize how much I used GMVIS until i no longer had access to it .

ya the only time we would use alldata when i worked at the dealer is if we had an off make vehicle come in and we were doing work on it. other then that it was all SI. i technically still have access to it all thanks to my 2 brothers still working at that dealership lol
