Limeted Slip
Limeted Slip
Hi I'm going to be buying a Cobalt SS this spring/summer and I'm starting to look now. I don't think i will be able to afford a G85, so my question is where can I find a limited slip to buy. I would like to know how much they are so I can determine if its worth the extra to buy a G85 or just buy the LSD at a later date. Thanks.
g85 is deff worth it. the LSD itself is about $1100. and figure about another $500-600 for install because our tranny's require special tools to take them apart without tearing up the gears
find one with it in. its expensive. i didnt have it and i got one, luckly i got it at a good price, otherwise the cost a grand for the Quaife LSD and then have a shop put it in for you, and that aint cheap unless u kno ppl.

$495 MSRP factory option.
Almost all of the SS/TC's in the lots have this along with the sunroof - which is a good thing.
The aero wing, performance display, and USB radio aren't as mandatory but are good to have. I think 2009.5 SS/TC has the USB radio as a standard feature - or at least a mandatory $100 "option"

I live in mandan north dakota and theres not alot up here. I know i will have to drive someplace to get one so im kinda looking the the ones closest but they dont seem to be g85. So im woundering how far i am willing to drive to find one.
Id drive 500 miles to get it if i had to.it would be alot easier to drive and get it than pay some one at least 8 hrs to install one that cost 1100 dollars. Labor would be around 800 dollars. so $ 1900.00 or drive 500 miles id drive plus if you installed it your self you would lose you warrenty.
Because I am looking to find a car that i can work on and make fast. Im an 18 year old kid who wants a car he can make fast. it has to be GM, my dads a parts manager out our dealership so i can get good prices on products and installs. And i know how much a LSD will help so im seeing if i can find one with it.
