Lnf to lsj brake swap issues

Recently converted to lsj brakes and install went fine... Problem I'm running into which I'm not sure is a Problem would be that these brakes don't seem to grab the same... Obviously going from a 4 piston brake to 1 is gonna make the feel different I just don't know if it should be this different... Also I put on slotted rotors and something on the caliper is dragging along the rotor and I can't seem to figure out what it is... It clicks every time it gets to a slot on the rotor... Annoying.

Anyone chime in with possible solutions and maybe how their lsj feels... There is basically just no bite when I hit the brakes but when I get on them hard they seem ok

Why would you downgrade from a 4 piston caliper to a 1 piston?

Run smaller rim and bigger tire...prolly for a track setup I'm guessing

The pads are brand new hawk hps, the rotor I'm not sure I bought them from the guy on here that is always selling LNf stuff along with the lsj calipers... What could be dragging? Initially I had a small leak from brake line to caliper but that was taken care of and then I took the car to get vaccum bled because I didn't like the feel when I bled them but still no luck ... Best way to describe it is there is no initial bite

why did you (most likely) switch to a stickier tire with shorter tread life?

same reason here... to achieve more traction

Did you check to see if the rotors are centered in the calipers? you may be off by 1/16" causing the rotor to drag on the the pads.

you may have to machine the bracket to center the caliper in the assembly. lsj to lnf increases, so lnf to lsj the amount would decrease. therefore machine 1/16 like tom says off the caliper to knuckle bracket moving the center line of the assembly in board.
assuming all other parts are correct.

1. sounds like air in the system
2. i just had this problem the other night, pull the calier off again and the little metal bracket that hold the pads into place, will have metal tabs, pull the pads off and the brackets off and most likel the rotors have nicked the tab pulling it out of place and is being hit by the rotor. i just fixed mine this weekend.

Well this sucks... But that would make sense because like I said there's no bite to the brakes and if it's off center that would be because only 1 pad is touching the rotor until I used enough force for them to both make contact on each side which explains why hard braking still feels okay.. I'm not looking right now, will I have to disconnect the brake line to get the bracket machined?
Thanks for the replies

no you can hang the caliper on a bungee cord off the spring, and remove the bracket. etc.

I went from an LSJ setup to a LNF, and the difference was night and day

This will probably sound stupid to those who track and drag their cars but.... why would you want less effective brakes for drag racing and tracking?

Are the LSJ brake setups just lighter than the LNF Brembo setup?

Just curious...

Because slick setups won't clear Brembos.

17"rim minimum clearance with brembos in other words your not getting a tire with very much sidewall flex on there with the brembos in place.

Gotcha!

16" is the minimum on the LSJ setup right?

I remember when I got my winters I had to make sure they were 16" or more to clear the brakes.

Still not that small, but I guess 16 is still better than 17!
