Looking to supercharge

I'm finally looking to supercharge my 2.4L sport. I have been looking at the ZZP kit. What do you guys recommend? Anything cheaper or more effective? If im going to spend 2k on something, I want to be sure I get a great product. Plus, I want the whole thing in one purchase.

What do you guys recommend? I wanna buy new.

zzp kit is a bit over priced, considering it doesn't come with a tune. piece together your own kit.

I prefer the sounds of super over turbo, plus I don't need the turbo. Which is more expensive and requires more tuning.

Since zzp is overpriced. what other types do you suggest?

zzp is the only company that puts together a supercharger kit.

What are the best parts to make my own kit then? I just don't want to do this half assed in the end. If im going to put this amount of money into my car, I have no problems dropping a few extra hundred into it for top performance and durability.

look in the classifieds on here. most parts your gonna need are stock cobalt ss/sc parts. there's even a few how-to's

I wouldn't waste my time or money supercharging it honestly.

Best bet is to sell/trade for an ss/sc if you have to have it.

I have 2 sets of stock SS/SC fuel injestors if you are interested. You'll need them and a wiring harness from a 2.2 ecotec. Dont remember the exact part number though.

You can peice together your own kit for around 1000 bucks. Then get an hptuners tune. You cant go wrong.

Ill sell you my supercharger set up so then I can go turbo. lol. But in all seriousness, turbo would have more potential, easier to control the power, better mpg, imo easier install, and the tuning is going to tough on both setups if your not experienced and in that case someone else will tune you so who cares? I would love to ditch the old m62 but my life is to crazy atm. Either way good luck on everything.

You can usually piece together a build cheaper than any vendor offers...Because they wanna make money. The main components of ZZPs kits are used, the supercharger and I would guess the intake mani+laminovs. You most definately can buy everything you need from one person or many and get it cheaper. One purchase limits you to people who are selling 'kits' as opposed to the months othershavespent gathering parts
Start reading the build threads in the link above and scouring the for sale section.
