you really dont have to do much to this car to make it look good, as far as looks go all you really need is

springs -not only look good but help in performance
tint -cheap and effective
light good looking rims -will help with performance alittle and def set off the car

pretty much after that maybe get some projectors and just go all out performance, you can look in my garage i really havnt done much in looks, but it enough to stand out from the crowd.

Naw 80 percent of the time when someone goes for looks on a Cobalt the 75% of people who buy them thinking "performance car" scream "ZOMG RICE" like a bunch of idiots. When I swapped up to the high rise spoiler, people said rice, which shows how stupid they are because as far as spoilers go the Cobalt high rise one is the cleanest looking one out there.

I can agree if someone puts tiger print graphics up and down their car, a huge non functioning wing to draw attention, 20 inch spinning rims, all that **** is rice. Always gonna be rice. But doing clean appearance mods to really help the car stand out without looking like abstract art, totally not rice people. Some of the things said on this site and others make it out like you can do anything you possibly want under the hood but don't you DARE make the car look good!

And just an FYI I have seen a total of 3 Cobalts so far that can be considered rice, most girls in general like the way the Cobalt looks, most girls like that I can punch it and be at 60 mph in 8.4 seconds. Not a girl I know thats going to be sitting there with a ****** stop watch and say "omg let me out, your car should be doing 0 to 60 in 5 seconds not 8" and if she is she is already HMP and no thanks to that business.

And in FINAL conclusion what makes me chuckle is that so many performance people can be likened to their 1/4 mile times. Need I quote from the great Uncle Ben's fest that was The Fast and The Furious? "I live my life by the quarter mile". Hmmmm interesting

It's a little ironic how many Cobalt owners voted performance with a car that looks so new and stylish. The Cobalt has the capacity to be fast, but is that all you guys were thinking at the dealership when you got yours?

That why I got the car, because I wouldn't have to spend any money on looks. As stated before I do not want a car that looks like hammered dog **** but performance is the key for me.

I prefer performance over looks, but I'm not gonna pay out the ass for an ugly ass car even if it will do over 200mph. When you spend tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands on a vehicle it should have the complete package IMO.

ugly is usually cheap.... just as long as it's fast and mechanically sound... I'm game
it's ultimate sleeper syndrome

I tried to do mix and match both categories as much as I could so far.

My performance:

also, * means I think it adds to looks as well (some of it can be considered underhood engine dressup)

AEM CAI*
ARK N2 cat-back*
CA header
XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe
Ingalls ETD*
DC Sports strut bar*
Powerslot slotted rotors*
Hawk HPS pads

My looks:

19" Axis Mods
Eibach sportlines (though they are kinda for performance/handling too)
ARK shorty antenna

More peformance mods on the way shortly though!

I personally would do suspension first then performance and lastly looks. Its how im doing my cobalt and have done every car before it. If you get the performance stuff done first your obviously going to want to test it out. But with a full suspension, such as springs, konis, strut and swaybars you can test it out more safely and itll be fun as hell to whip it right into the corner and come sling shotting out of it. Hoods, bodykits, and tint cant do that. Just my .02

I totally agree w/ suspension mods
I'm just too cheap to take off perfectly good shocks and springs until I've used them up
same w/ the headlights... I want Silverstars! but I'm waiting for a bulb to blow first, I'm on 16 months w/ the factory bulbs... I don't want to wait another 12 months

That's exactly how it's going to be with my next whip since I'm going to try a 2010 Z28. Insurance is going to suck, so I'll be cruising slow till I get some laser deflection.

I perfer Performance, but the car should look good too.... I dont like cars when they are overdone/riced out.... I like a clean performance look, lowered, nice body kit(nothing too agressive looking) nice rims, blacked out headlights, HIDs, Tinted windows etc... I hate decals and racing stripes, primered body kits etc....
But Yeah Performance>>>Looks any day.....
