at a lost
ok im trading my LS in for a SS hopefully on tuesday. I called my insurance company to see what the diffrence in price would be and they said it would actually be $6 cheaper for me to get the SS supercharged. and im just like?????? how is that possible and she said she had no idea but it shows the it would be 6 dollars cheaper
thats like me. i had a 1999 z34 before my ss/sc and when i called to check out some prices ( 06 ss/sc and an 06 gto) they said the gto would be about the same as the cavy and the ss/sc would be $400 cheaper. some luck huh? on my registration it only says chev cobalt. and when i get my insurance bill it says cobalt as well. i dont think in my insurance complany differenciats between the trims. so i called them and they said they had it listed as an ss/sc. so i said alright.
well, basically, the SS/SC, while a lot faster, is also a lot more rare. in other words... not a whole lot of them get wrecked/stolen/tickets because there just arn't that many to do it.
which insurance are you with. when i got my LT last year i went with allstate. at the time they didnt even have the different trims ( 2.0/2.2/2.4) in their system. they didnt even know what a cobalt was ( is that a suv? is what they asked me)
Insurance costs are based on industry formulas. There are fewer SS/SCs than the LS/LT models so there are probably more crash statistics with the base 'Balts -- that's why it seems the SS/SC is cheaper or the same to insure -- unless you personnally have a terrible driving record
before you go and buy a new chevy wait for the march incentives to come out. THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT 0% AGAIN. this is for real a discussion in gm to boost sales. so just wait and see. thats all i got to say
