LSJ Valve Cover on a 2.2

I did a search and come up completely dry, but I was wondering if you guys think that the valve cover from the LSJ will bolt down properly on the L61? I like the clean look of the LSJ's, especially when polished (and they're easier to polish too lol). I know that the cylinder heads are very very similar, and I wonder if you guys can help me out here. Thanks.

i think your mistaken, valve cover serves no function but to cover the top end of the motor from getting junk it in

I don't think you can use it on the L61. 1 you have an ignition "casette" for the spark that mounts to the valve cover, LSJ's do not have this, 2: we have an extra sensor off the cams,
Physically it should bolt up, but you really wouldn't be able to use it

Yeah, I'm not even sure it'll physically bolt up. Halfcent will be here shortly to hand out his schoolin'.

actually, you said you "dont think I can", which I took to mean that you werent totally sure, but thanks for the info though. The sensor you were talking about, is it just something that goes into the side of the valve cover? If so, would it work to seal it up somehow? Do you have pics of what you were referring to?

yeah hold on a sec... let me dig em up

and yes I do just happen to have an extra cylinder head in my bedroom lol..

main thing is the ignition cassette the L61 uses. LSJ is Coil On Plug (COP) setup. LSJ valve cover doesn't have a provision for the ignition cassette

He's right. If you look at the last picture he posted you can see why it won't work -- the left rear corner (closest corner to the driver) has a hump. On the 05-06 2.2 that area is flat.

I don't know about the 07 2.2 though -- that has cam sensors and the individual coil packs; we need pictures of an 07 2.2 in that area to see if they are interchangeable.
