Me VS GM
Well I noticed that my paint is cracking off right where the front bumper meets my fenders. It looks like they painted it to thin or it was assembled to soon.
So I took it in to my local GM dealer and instead of admiting it is a flaw they said the area warranty manager would need to look at it. Now all I get is the there coming next week again and again BS.
I am tired of looking at it and my Camaro SS and Cobalt need to be put away for the winter really soon.
They have pictures (10 or More) can I make them reimburse me if I have it painted somewhere else?
It is clearly a paint flaw but they still act as if there is any kind of maybe.

Well, as a service writer - I can tell you the Area rep is gonna need info on it - However the warranty admin there should be able to talk to him about it. But it really comes down to how pissy the area rep wants to be. Best you can do is keep pushing and call 1-800-CHEV-USA
and complain with them, They'll then call the dealership and see whats up and call you back and let you know, that way you can get a straight answer.

Had to use that chevy number also. Complained every day and every night. Was the biggest polite ******* I could be. After 2 weeks they finally resolved my problems. Just be ready for the dealer to play the game as well.

they wouldnt cover the cracks in my friends cav's front bumper in his 03 cav he had , after they readjusted the front bumper twice caise it didnt fit well
then told him the cracks were from a accident , or someone backing into his cav
he gave up dealing with them , then ending up getting in a accident , and didnt have to worry about it after that
sucks to hear man

I am starting to notice the same problem on my car, all of the seams where the body parts meet look like they are starting to chip. I hope this doesnt turn out to be a hassel but honestly I would love the opportunity to get a decent paint job because imo the factory paint that I have seen lately is sub par at best.

I just had a similar problem fixed I hadn't posted about.
Above the rear drivers side window the paint was light and blotchy from the factory. My dealer dosn't have a body shop so they took it to
Ben Bissett Chevrolet-Olds
(724) 662-5440 130 N Pitt St
Mercer, PA
I got it back. It looked like they didn't spray it, they left a line of clear from not removing the B-pillar vinyl strip, burned the rubber around the rear window, burned the clear in 2 places, and had a 5 year old buff it. It looked like S**T, and I wasn't too pleased.
After going round with GM customer care, my helpful dealer (Jason Black Chevy Sharpesville, PA they are great!), and my personal body shop ( http://www.advancedautobody.org/ ) got it back Friday, other than a little overspray (and I havent seen it in the sun yet to be 110% sure) it looks GREAT.
And it was covered under warranty to take it there.

codyss, when my old man bought his z06 a few years ago he had some problems with the paint... some chips and swirls... The dealer didnt really want to do anything about.. he just called the 1-800 number and complained and a little bit. They ended up taking care of it. But it did take a little bit of work on his part. I think somebody said it earlier... just try and be the biggest polite ******* you can be and just keep bugging them at the 1-800 number and the dealer. You should be able to get it repaired.

My 05 Cobalt SS has the same small chips appearing where the front end is meeting the fenders, both sides, only the front. I'm worried about it getting worse over the years. But at the same time I'm worried that the moronic monkeys at the dealerships body shop will do a half bottom job of disassembling, painting and reassembly. And will they correct the fact that the front fascia is bolted down too tight to the fender or just put it back the way it is?
For me, I think I'm going to find out how to loosen the bolts in that area, put a shim in and use some touch up paint to seal it up so water cannot work on it.
I want my car to stay as new and as near perfect as it can. And I want to limit the amount of times that a grease monkey gets in and out of my car, because nobody in the world gives a flying dog squat about my car other than me.
