Misinformed people...

At victory lane getting an oil change (too cold to do it myself) and got to talking to one of the techs

Him "this the LS?"
Me "no, LT but its basically the same thing with power locks and windows"
Him "well it has the auto transmission so it's the faster model"
Me "actually the auto is slower"
Him "I drove a stick version at my old job at the dealership, took it out after we finished work on it and beat the **** out of it"
Me "yea, it's not exactly fast to begin with. Wish I had the turbo"
Him "they only came SC and NA"
Me "no they had a turbo version from 08-2010"
Him "oh ya, but they were custom ordered from GM, so they are very rare, only like 20 were made"
Me "okay..."(not about to argue)

Just glad he wasnt actually working on my car.

last thing i heard was i took a base model cobalt and brought a bodykit to make it look fast, ( was in the parking lot of KFC) so i said "no it came like that". guy says "yea i bet it makes big swoosh sounds too", i said "sometimes depends" and walk off, as i got in my car and started to leave i let my bov go off. He yells out "you have a boost leak" ( talking bout the flutter) i said "no its just laughing that you drive a POS del sol."

id be questioning if they put in the correct oil. personally from that much gneral knowledge stupidity... howd they find the oil filter? or did they have to ask you where that was located since you have a RARE cobalt

Thats almost as good as what I heard today. I got new tires today and got an alignment, before they did the alignment they called me and told me I had a bad passenger side lower ball joint. I went to pick up my car so I could replace the ball joint and save my self $150. When I was talking to the service manager, he told me he could not simply just replace the ball joint, that the whole control arm needed to be replaced. I replaced my ball joints about 2 years ago, with the moog ball joints, that just bolt in. When I told him that, he said "Oh, I didn't even look at the ball joint itself." After he said that he tryed to correct him self, but he knew he had screwed up.

Well the good thing is the guy that was actually doing the oil change was very knowledgeable and had changed my oil 3 times in the past, so I know it was done right lol

Personally once he had told me that he finished working on a cobalt and then took it out and beat the **** out of it I would have told him that it's because of people like you that they opened auto parts stores just went through this with my car last week. Took it in to get the recall for the fuel pump taken care of and then they "fixed" it. Took them four days to tell me it was a gasket leak. Told them I wanted my car back didn't trust them with my car. This is where is gets jacked up. Go to pick up my car and it's not there. Wait for about thirty mins it finally rolls in. I get in don't smell anything start looking around oil fingerprints all over my headliner a big ass crease on my headliner on the passenger side. I get out and I'm lit up and ready to lose it. Manager tells me while it was in for repairs the air bag light came on so they checked it out. He said that my power wire for my LEDs must have come loose and fried my air bag module. I said let me ck it ou real quick. Take off the fuse cover on the passenger side and my jaw hit the floor. These guys cut my fuse block off of my power wire and plugged it into the air bag fuse slot. He then told me yeah the guy that installed it is a *******. I lost it. Called a lawyer yesterday and was told that we have a good case since I actually took pictures with a write up I was going to post on here I fixed it now illhave to fix my module on my own time never again is this car going into the dealer

lol im lucky my dealership has been great. although i still run into the occasional salesman that tells me they didn't make turbo cobalts..

had a clunk in the floor of my wifes kia and took it in... the mechanic told me it as a backfire.. i laughed and told him i know what a backfire sounds like since my car does it all the time and it doesn't make the floor move. they reflashed it and said it's fixed and it still does it to this day.. in fact worse now.. didn't bother taking it back because they're a bunch of *****...

Hello folks,

Looks like some of these stories do involve our dealerships; aside from when a lawyer is involved (this would be handled elsewhere within GM), if there was ever anything you had wanted for me to document or check into, please let me know via private message.

Reminds me of my co-worker that always goes "I love the sound of turbos" then makes a blow off valve noise... There is no hope for some people.
