Looks over performance.
Try getting a girl horny talking about how you dropped a turbocharged 405 in your lime green 88 Monte Carlo with racing slicks.

Now pull up in front of her house in a new black V6 mustang, and she'll boff your brains out.

if you have to impress a girl with your car, then you have issues beyond what this site covers...... well maybe it can be helped in the lounge.

Like i said before, the SS/SC already is a nice looking car. doesnt need much in looks to improve it

Im gonna say for now, im about appearance. I want a car look good, and I include the sound of the exhaust as an appearance item. Until my warrantee runs out, im keeping performance mods to intake and full exhaust, and focusing on looks, but not going over the top. After the warrantee is close to running out, then Ill prolly peice a turbo kit together, assuming our PCM is unlocked by then lol.

see... the 2.0 people have a different situation. its much easier to make a SS/SC fast than a 2.2 or 2.4...... for them it can be a different story

I'd say 90% performance and 10% looks. Like most people already said, the car looks sexy already as stock, so may as well go overboard on performance...

Whatever guys.
I'm not ashamed enough to admit that I'll take help getting laid wherever I can get it.
To hell with pride issues. " I don't need a car to get me laid...meeeeuuwwww"
Fu$% that noise!
If walking around pantsless with a baby bottle in your ass guaranteed that you'd get laid every day as a guy, they'd have to reinvent chairs across the globe with a hole in the seat.
You posers need to quit playing all cool.

Ahhh the age old question... This has been debated since the dawn of automobiles.
i'd have to go for split 50/50. sure there are times when i think performance is more importaint and then there are other times when i think looks is more importaint.

id agree fully. As a business owner, I cant make my cars that I advertise to the masses look like ass.

And my cars dont need to look like ass.. (ass = stock)

I believe a little bit of neons, a nice wax job, some tint, lowering springs, and some shiny stuff under the hood can go a long way.

Than again, Performance parts do add "show" quality to your car.

I think a person should buy/build a car for their own enjoyment **** what anyone else thinks. I have never and will never buy a car just cause chicks like it if thats what you wanna do go buy a celica. Performance interests me more than visual mods and I think buying anything just because someone else likes it is dumb.

My philosophy: I don't care what your car looks like... how "bling" your dubs and chrome are... or the fact that I can feel your subs inside my car... that light turns green, I'm gone.

Suspension = performance by your definition, and there's nothing wrong with that. We each have our own.

Gas mileage is an important performance consideration for me. My performance goal is decent handling, with the lowest possible ET while still getting 30mpg or better on the highway from a reliable daily driver.

Form Follows Function best sum's up my opinion.

If I have to choose one over the other, then I choose "GO". If after the go is done and money is left over then it's time for some "show" as long as that show doesn't become "slow". Our cars were beautiful when we bought them so we already had a good start in the looks department.

both are important to me. im only going to build my car to a certain point performance wise because i can only use so much horsepower on the streets, i can barely push it hard now so what would i do with an extra 200hp besides burn up tires. i go to the track but only a few times a year so if i can get about 300 hp to the wheels thats way more than enough to pin people back in their seat and turn some nice track times. after that im just going to customize try to enter some car shows.
