My car is finally done! (WARNING incoming fakeout)
so we got a call today and my car is finally done!
it has been at the dealership for about 6-7 weeks now since it was hit by an underage high DUI driver..anyway..
so i go up there really excited to get back in my baby and...well....
the headlights are different. one is the original clear 2.4ss one and the other is the tinted supercharged ss headlight.
the hood is misaligned
the fenders dont line up
the thing under the windshield wiper blades is like off
they didnt give me a lower grill
they DID however give me a fresh coat of scratches and marks on various places like the door handles and such.
I am at a loss for words. i am just so fed up i dont know what to do anymore.
as for pics, im going up there tomorrow to talk to them (the bodyshop was closed when i went up, didnt wanna bitch to the salesman) ill take plenty when im there

yesterday made 6 weeks for me as well..they broke the glass that came with the replacement door so they know how pissed i was so they gonna take it out of another SS they have there and put it in mine and then when the other glass comes in they gonna take it out of mine and put in the new one..and im also waiting for a ABS sensor and the Side air bag the ABS is supposed to come in 2morrow and then i hafta go back in for the air bag one so im supposed ot get car back on thurs and then drive around with the air bag light on till the sensor/ glass comes in ..never going back to this dealership again after i get all the stuff done
*edit* i however had 13-14 grand damage
even if they fix it, i just cant keep it. ive never thought i could have so many problems. like where do i stand with this?
im gonna bitch to them tomorrow, but what are my options? i wanna trade it in, but i still gotta somehow get that gap of value cuz its been hit.
ugh.
like honestly, i laughed. they are obviously different headlights!!!

You make them fix everything with factory parts and you want reciepts of everything they replaced if the body shop is owned by a dealership you go straight to the GM there and show him how they fixed it. Did you pick the body shop or did the insurance company cause you have the right to take it to any body shop
Also check for tape lines thats the #1 thing appraisers check to see if your car has been repainted and wrecked
feel in these places they should feel smooth when you rub ur fingers across them if it feels rough that is where they taped it off and it left the sticky residue. It needs to be smooth check all edges on the car or where ever they painted.

The ford dealer in my town is a very good body shop to. Just because they are a dealer doesn't mean they dont have a good body shop program. However I still take my stuff to the body shop. But only because I don't like the ford dealer.
well ive had a bunch of problems day one with this thing and the dealership has been nothing but trouble, but for some reason my dad had it in his head that a dealership would do better work. i told him that they are horrible and such but he went ahead and did it and at that point i just didnt care anymore
In the 2 different GM dealerships I have brought my car to thus far I've seen no bodyshops at all. Body shops would proably be cheaper too.
The majority of the dealerships out my way have body shops attached to them. Personally, I would look into having someone else fix it, but if you're that upset with the car, talk to one of the salesmen that know your drama and see what they can do for you. It won't hurt to ask
I would call my insurance company and inform them of your problems with the work. Refuse to accept your car back till it is rectified. I would tell them that you will not be returning the rental car or accepting delivery of your car from the dealer till the problems are dealt with to your satisfaction. Sorry about your bad experience bro.

This is the best advise.
Insurance companies are very careful when it comes the the actual repair. They will be your most productive avenue of action.
what people dont understand that the person who fixes that car is 100% responsible, if that car were to get into another accident while you have it and it crushed the wrong way, that will come back to the person who repaired the car the first time, so my problem is why they just dont fix it right the first time, my dad fixes cars for a living and he has quite a reputation for being the best around, you fix it right the first time you dont have any problems, it also doesnt help that some places work flat rate and under evaluate the car and the work that needs to be done (ex 2 hours to pull and align the frame when in reality its might take 10 hours to do it, the body guy doesnt get paid for any of the extra time so some guys half ass it so they can make time.
Insurance companies do not want to pay out the actual cash that the car may need, they would rather total a car and give you a check for a way depreciated value, i had this happen with one of my cavaliers, they actually had the ***** to bring in door dings and say that is previous damage and lower the amount they pay(car was totaled with 2500 dollars damage)
It's a vicious cycle, insurance companies dont want to pay, techs arent getting paid for extra work, and newer younger guys are "half-assing" them. Thats one of the main reasons my dad went to hourly, he has the time to fix the car correctly and he is still getting paid for it.

My dealership has a body shop attached to it, and it is one of the best body shops i've been to. When I saw a problem with it, I brought it right back and they fixed it immediately.
Dont settle rocco. Make sure they fix everything back to perfection. the more you have to fight, the worse this dealer and bodyshop will look. file a complaint with the dealership and tell them what happened.
