My Old Balt....

Some of you prolly remember my silver ss/sc and all the work i had in that car.. well money got tight for a while back when i had it and i couldnt hardly make the payments, my buddy offered to buy it to get me rid of the loan. i accepted his offer just to save up some money and get out from under that payment, not knowing what was to come...

all that ^^^ was about may of last year. in the 9 months since the kid as had it he has turned a once beautiful car into nothing more than a paper weight. heres a few of his genius mistakes just to give you all an idea of what im dealing with here...
-raced everyone humanly possible in our hometown within the first few weeks, while running 87 octane fuel, because he "couldnt afford 93"
-drug the front end so many times that he tore the plug out of the zzp front mount, which drained all the coolant out and he drove it like that for about 3 weeks.
- blew the flex pipe out of the zzp 3" downpipe. how? no clue.
-claimed supercharger oil was dirty so they changed it.... with mobil 1 10w-30
thats not all, just enough for you guys to get an idea.
so then i was on craigslist bored yesterday, and what would i come across? you guessed it.
2006 cobalt ss/sc sale or trade
first of all, its an 05 not an 06, as well as this kid cant spell for ****, or know half of the things done to that car. and out of what he did post, its mostly incorrect lol

this is one of last pictures i have of what it used to be. theres painters tape on the winshield bc it was just put in. i miss her

the wheels are apray painted, porrly i might add, and yeah he traded the TC wheels for those cause he didnt know what he had, but trust me its more than that. as i said the flex pipe is busted so it sounds like ass, he hit something and busted the passenger side headlight open and the light and fog light both quit. its also not even running at the moment so yes it has gone too **** other than just wheels. as well as added those gay fender stripes

Sad, but it happens. This is why when I eventually do get rid of my SS, I don't want to sell it locally. I don't want to see some asshat driving the **** out of it, doing stupid modifications, or any other **** that reflects negatively on the cobalt community.

Out of sight, out of mind.

^this is why the Cobalt SS SC and especially the Ss/TC will be a very are car

1. Many are wrote off
2. Many will fall victim to high milage wear out in years
3. The biggest reason of all.......this get passed around from owner to owner and become cheaper to buy in the used market and they get neglected by young idiots who don't give a flying **** about it like the original owner did when he bought it new

I am the original owner of mine and will never sell
Because I know that nobody will ever take care of my car like I do

That does suck, man. I've been doing the opposite of what those guys have been doing to your cars and fixing headliner, sunroof, sun visor, and other interior issues. When I got the car none of the bolts were in the fender liner and I didn't notice it because it was tucked so nicely into place. Not really any mechanical issues though other than a blown rocker and lash adjuster.

I don't have any handy, but he's ripped the front lip off, blew a turbo, blew a cold side pipe, ripped the bottom of the intercooler off, broke an axle, few other things too. I don't even like talking about it

Ouch, that just sucks man...that was a nice car, especially the puzzle piece lip. Did you put the wing back on when you traded it?

That is why I am never selling mine, or if I d, I'd sell it to someone I know who would take good care of it, or make them sign a disclaimer saying they won't rice it out or abuse it.

I knew the day my car got sold from the dealership it was screwed, I met the kid before he bought it, you could tell he doesn't have a clue what he was getting into. I told him if he was having problems to come on here and his exact words were "I'm not that good with computers, I should be okay though." Must not have realized that he just bought a 300 hp computer. I just had to let it go and not worry about it. That's just what kids do to these cars. I expect to see it in either our service department or our body shop within 6 months.

Get it from him! The more I think about it the crappier a white trunk looks on Vic Red without creating a design on it or something.

A mixture of being tired of it breaking and being tired of not being able to get around in the WV winter.

You're probably right, they will be rare. But not likely worth much, unless you wait like 50 years then it might be appreciating in value.

I will get rid of mine when I have enough $ to buy what I want. The main reason I won't keep my car forever is I don't want to be seen driving a loud, tuner-ish looking, GM small car. I wan't something more grown-up and less boy-racer looking. I am embarassed of showing up certain places in my SS (ie: work, job interviews, dates, weddings, funerals, etc.) It's a fun car to drive, but it's fun like a moped. You don't let anyone see you
