my thoughts about 07 cobalt ss/sc after owning it for over a year
Pro's: quick, cheap to add power, easy to dress up to look better,
Con's: noise inside cabin of car while driving, sun roof visor button(around it keeps falling off), water leak near sun roof(warranty fixed it)
the car i used to own was a rsx type-s which has a lot of potential after you dump a lot of money into it.
however, i didn't want to drop all my money into the rsx also the car ended up having problems and i beat the **** out of it.
so i sold it and wanted to buy a brand new car. when i first bought my car i knew i wasn't going to ever put an exhaust on my cobalt so i worked around that and thought on how i could achieve my goal of 300whp+.
overall the cobalt is a quick car and to me it looks good now and cost me barely nothing to get it to look the way it does now.
thank you css.net members, cobalt owners, and chevy

For the sun roof bezel.....
It is not hard to fix. All you need to do is pull out the weather striping on the headliner where the sun roof is. Pull down the head liner and pop out the metal holder from the headliner. Just re-bend the tabs and mess with it for about five minutes. Mine has been good since i pushed my button threw the liner.
I also bought my LSJ for the same reasons cheep, simple and fun.

Bought mine in june 2006. I kept it mostly stock except a k&n drop in and lower twin beam bar. I have the sunroof button kinda crooked but it hasnt fell yet, lol. The paint chipped around the interior door handle, leak around the door sil, and tapping the IC pump. Nothing that cant be fixed easily. I would have to say this car is a keeper. I will be tinkering with it for awhile.
Thanks,
Jas

^ The 2.2 is actually fairly quick for what it is. I've driven one, and automatic rental.. and it wasn't THAT much slower than the 2.4 for normal driving. It's stilll got plenty more ***** than a base civic, corrolla, etc.
To the OP.. why would you never put on an exhaust? You like the stock sound that much?
Anyhow.. personally, I have two 2007's, one 2.0 and one 2.4. Both have been really great cars.
The 2.4 went through 2 Cleveland winters, and the 2.0 went through one. Both did exceptionally well despite the harsh conditions. Now that I've got them down here in sunny North Carolina - couldn't be happier.
Only major problem with either was the trasmission with the 2.4... which was replaced (brand new tranny at 37,000k miles) under warranty by the dealer.
I'm very happy with both purchases, and would probably buy a new TC if anything were to happen to one of them.

Well, certainly if I bought it used 3 months ago - I'd bring it back to where I bought it and demand a new clutch.
I guess the deal with the clutch is that it's fairly easy for a dealership to write it off as "driver error".

my dealership threatens to sue when i raise hell. "slander" of their dealership, when i told them i would never recommend them to anyone
BTW never buy from maple ridge chrysler, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT

I bought my car in Oct '05, so i've had it for almost 3 years, its an 06. It now has 61K miles on it. I love this damn car more than when I bought it. It was my first new car, so there is a certain amount of attachment that comes with that, but the nice looks of the car in stock trim, the power/handling/braking of the setup I have now, and the way it runs as a fun DD that gets high 20's mpg, I can't complain. I can't say I'd make the same choice if I had to do it over again, as there are limits to what power you can get from the car reasonably, I may have chosen one of my other options, but I don't regret doing what I did.
Also, its fun being in this community and getting to push the edge of whats out there. With an RSX, SRT, or whatever, there is nothing you can do that hasn't been done before. These cars are rare and different, which just makes it so much more fun.
