Need trunk lock for 06 SS

I Got a junkyard cobalt LT coupe deck lid to replace the G5 keyless lid some fool put on my 06 Cobalt but someone at the yard took the lock before i got the entire lid. Does anyone have a source for a new lock cylinder thats not those $112 TL329 Trunk Lock Kits that i keep seeing on Rockauto and amazon?

Another problem i might have is im not sure if i have the G5 latch or the original cobalt latch, Assuming its a G5 latch, will i be able to connect a new lock to it since the G5 lid is keyless? At the end of the day i just want the hole covered up lol

Just go to NAPA and pick up a rubber grommet in the mean time.

I have to imagine the latch is the same through all the models - the trunks are 99% the same through all the models (sedan vs coupe differences aside). Are you saying the G5 lid that was on your car didn't have a lock cylinder? I don't recall there being a model that came without one... so I have to assume someone filled in the hole.

Correct. No keyhole at all. I might have found someone with a junk cobalt I can steal the key cylinder from. May have to update if that works out

I can believe it. I've seen others do similar things on other cars. I never really cared for the "shaved" look. A lot of work for little pay off, imo.
