whats up guys? just got a 05 cobalt ss sc tuesday and loving it i have seen alot of guys around michigan with mesh grilles in the front with the bottom ones saying ss on them. does anyone knowwhere i can find these grills??? was also wondering if there any issues i should know about or problems i should be aware of? i have water dripping on the pass floorboard when i run the ac for awhile is this a common problem? tia for the help everyone look forward to getting to know yall btw 29900 on the car

 

has ur car been wrecked? cause my first cobalt did that and it was wrecked b4 and when they fixed it they messed up the ac

Welcome to the madhouse! There are some vendors with different grilles or you could make one. Check out the How To: section, you can do alot with out spending alot. Or you could just buy the new SS/TC grille

Water from A/C should not be getting into the car. The drain for it may be clogged from debris.

This is the only one you will find unless you do it yourself. It would cost less than $50 to do it yourself though.

welcome, as far as the AC goes check under the car back where the firewall is you should find a black tube that just kinda hangs there that is your AC condensation drain tube, shove a screwdriver in it and make sure nothin is pluggin it that should take care of your water in the car prob

 

think i got the ac prob fixed. i have seen at least 7 diff cobalts with the exact same grills they are metal of some kind mesh and have a big ss in the middle on the bottom these cars were all seen at diff times in diff parts of mich. someone somewhere has to make and sell tese grills there is no way 7 diff cobalt owners got the same exact material same color and painted the same ss in the same spot im not a big fan of the plastic mesh no one knows where the metal mesh grills are from??

 

If you want to make them, you can get the mesh for like $2 at Home Depot. It's called "Gutter Gaurd". That's what I used. I put "COBALT" on my lower grill instead of "SS".

after joining the Marines i lived in Oscoda, Mi. 45 minutes north of Saginaw...i lived in Flint till i was 10. now i'm in NC.

 

I should have said lenses. The whole front clear cover comes off with a bit of heat on the glue/silicone. Once I got those off I painted the chrome bezels black and removed the yellow lenses on the turn signals. I also used Nightshadez on the sidemarkers (the other amber lens on the side). I used amber turn signal bulbs that look blue when they are off. It's a pretty good do-it-yourself project that didn't cost alot of money, but changed the apperance dramatically.

 

THERE IS A CAR SHOW IN LUMBERTON, NC ON AUGUST 15-17. CHINOMIZED CUSTOMS ARE GOING TO HEAD DOWN THERE WITH AT LEAST 4 COBY'S AND AROUND 12 OTHER MEMBERS.
