Hey guys, I just joined this forum because I have a 09 Cobalt LS XFE and I randomly got an idea about slapping a turbo on it. I've been looking around and as far as I can tell this is a great forum. There is a plethora of information and really nice people, glad to be apart of it. First question I have is if my car is a LAP or L61, I think its an LAP but I could be wrong. Thanks guys!

I think all the 2.2's 08 and later are L61, but I could be wrong.

OMG xD your so off track lapi ... L61 have the 145hp motors and were the 05-07 and LAP is the 08-10 version of 2.2

Nah seriously i have no idea Its just a thought cause T/C's were introduced in 08 so i thought that LAP would follow the lead to start in 08 since i dont know reason why they did that..

 

HA! Suck it! The L61 was used through 08, LAP came in for 09-10.

 

wow !! one year off ! But my deduction with the 08 T/C wasnt bad tho but I dont know why they did LAP when they knew they would stop doing cobalts in 2010

 

Because they're GM and they can. Haha. Personally I think any NA G5's or Cobalts were a bad idea, but oh well.
