NEW item for Cobalt SS's ! Carbon Fiber injector cover from MPX!

Behold the new MPX Carbon Fiber injector cover for the Cobalt SS !

This is a prototype piece we have made for the Cobalt, in addition to many other parts we are working on that we just received. We will have them in stock to sell in a few weeks, but for now, we just wanted to share some pictures of the piece, and of it installed.

What do you guys think ?

Oh, and btw, MPx is the private label brand for Modern Performance. MPx has been bringing out products to market since 1999, and we have always strived for our MPx products to be innovative, better quality, and better performing than any other part on the market.

I think it looks good , but I also think carbon fiber is ricey. To each his own.

Carbon Fiber is an amazing product. Its incredibly strong, but yet hundreds of times lighter than its counterparts (ie, steel, aluminum).

We have these pieces custom made by hand, and then baked in an autoclave at high temperatures. This same shop that makes these, makes custom racing boat hulls, and other parts for racing vehicles. So, it is a race inspired part, and frankly, as long as its not fake carbon fiber, like used in some taillights, and mirrors, etc, it is not a ricey part !

How about some color match pieces? I'd take a red cover over CF, I just don't like the look under the hood as much as I do inside.

MarcS, we will announce the pricing on these a little bit later, when we get much closer to releaseing them for sale. That should be in a few weeks.

05Vicred, we will only offer these in black carbon fiber, the colored carbon fibers sound neat, but if you see them in person they dont look good as they are not bright and vivid. For example, the red carbon fiber weave looks more like a faded red/orangish carbon fiber and wont really match a red car. For that reason, we only offer traditional black carbon fiber as it will match better all color cars.

Wicked, watch out for our announcement of the release, we think the pricing on it will be very affordable, and we will keep them in stock for the Cobalt community !

Thank you all for your interest !!

Any option of getting them for my base model without the "supercharged" on it? Also you guys gonna offer any other pieces under the hood in cf? Anything for the interior as well? I'd love to see those trim pieces on the dashboard in cf.

yeah, looks pretty cool...
I might be interested.. however CF isn't cheap.. so I dunno...

I wonder if my 'common sense' side will still end up convincing me not to get one..

I think these would match well with a CF hood too. I'm going to keep my stock hood unless a cowl induction hood comes out, or a functional "ram air". However, I think this little trim peice really gives the engine a unique look. You'll probably get a sale from me
