Hey all, Well I dont own a Cobalt yet but soon, very soon the wheels are in motion to pick up a new 07. Now the chances of me getting an SS/SC are slim so my question is can an LT be modded to run quick? I dont want a drag car but Id like something i can build up and see some what impressive numbers. Im not looking for 11's but high 12's would be a nice goal. Mainly I want to know if the LT's have the potential to run 12's regardless of how much more money you would have to spend on the motor rather then the SS/SC

Thanks all,
Brian.

Well, I would say buy what you can afford on payment. Don't worry if it's not an SS/SC. If you can't make the payment then what's the point. Oh Welcome to the site. I'm sure some of the more experienced people here will answer on the high 12's .

I hate to even suggest but you could always get an SRT4 and be ion the 12's CHEAPLY compared to an SS. There are also V8 F-bodies out there for cheap.

I love the cobalt and payments arent an issue. I make good money for being 20...More then most adults. I have thought about going bigger to get those 12's forsure but id rather do it in something you wouldnt expect.

Also the lot has no n/a SS left i dont believe. They are getting rid of all stock at 0% financing. Im thinking about getting the LT Coupe, but I will have to go back sometime this week and see what they have exactly. (something like 17 they need to move)

Is there SC out there for the 2.2? Sorry I should do some research but im way to excited and way too impatient to read thread after thread :P

I want new...and new they dont have any SS/SC in the area plus insurance would rape me. I think the LT will best fit. Sure it might not get 12's like wanted i guess but it all comes down to is there enough parts out there to get these car contending with other 4cyl at the track?

and yes i have thought about the G5 as well as the IR but i just love the cobalts.
