New Sunroof Switch?

I was talking to my dealer today about bringing my car in tomorrow and after mentioning the sunroof he said, "Ah yeah, we've had that a lot, we designed a completely new switch for the sunroof."

Has anyone else gotten a new switch? Maybe he just means they redesigned the brackets that hold the switch?

Car is going to get dropped off in a few hours..I should have it back tomorrow night. I'll update then if there is a new switch.

As of today, the entire sunroof switch assembly fell apart and is now lodged somehow in the hole is it built into...Luckily the sunroof was shut since getting to the button where it is now would be a b*tch.

I'm hoping, too, but am somewhat doubtful. I'm sure it would have made a big commotion on the forums here--but hey, maybe I'll be the first to find out here. (wishful thinking)

I made a how-to on fixing that switch. Not hard at all really.

The entire setup collapsed today, not just the sunroof trim. It needs to be replaced regardless. Hopefully a new button is instore, then you all can yank out your old ones and get the new one

First, get a mini-fire-extinguisher. Then, get a Q-Tib, carefully dab the areas around the trim with gasoline, and proceed to ignite. After the fire has burned a precise circle, put the fire out.

Now it's off.

I've had mine replaced twice already, fell down again a couple weeks ago. I'm ready for the super glue now, I think.

it's on its way to a slow death. first, my trim came off. months later, the button loosened, then finally it collapsed.

Bezel - tab broke off one side - it is in glove box now.

Switch works - it is floating loose up in the hole for it.

I had my bezel replaced a week ago.

What has been done is that the metal retainer that the bezel clips too has been redesigned. Hopefully this has fixed the falling off issue.
