New wheels on the '08s?

Found this pic on google. Not sure, but these look like factory vehicles and they even have the manufacturer stickers on the bumper. What do you guys think? Looks like they changed the grille too. Whatever they are, those wheels kick ass!

Yeah, a lot like the Z06 wheels. Some guy on the GM forums says these have the 2.0 turbo LNF, but I don't want to start another one of those threads. Just thought you guys would enjoy the wheels.

LOL!
Read it on here.. more like read it on the release sheets from Dealerships, and heard it straight from the mouths of GM reps who specifically say there is no 08.

Correct. They are def. not Vette wheels. They just look similar.

The more I look at them, kinda looks like they just C&C-ed out a center stripe from the '05-'06 wheels. Pretty much the same dimension of spoke it looks like.

Whatever the hell they are on the wheels are cool looking! Reminds me of the Z/06 split rims.

And they do say SS supercharged on the sides don't they?

Not sure what wheel those are, but I know for a fact that 07 is the last year that the Supercharged cobalt will be offered. Dont see how they could be a 09 eather considering there is not going to be a SS/SC after 07. You can clearly see the supercharged badge under the SS on the black balt in that pic. I would assume that it is more than likely an 07 with a set of rims the dealer put on it. You can call BS on me or whatever you want, but my uncle works for GM based out of there headquarters in Detroit. He has worked for them for 30+ years and is able to get very accurate info on what GM is doing. He told me that the 07 is the last SS/SC being made, and that there is talk of a turbo balt in the future. The turbo balt is not set in stone yet, but he will let me know when he has some solid information about it. If that is not good enough for you, I dont really care, but it is the truth. There will be no SS/SC balts after 07. End of story

Those rims are 1,000,000,000,000 x's better than the Cavy rims you're thinking of. I think you get a better idea of what they look like if you look at the red one.

I agree that there aren't going to be any supercharged Cobalts after '07. Where did I say otherwise? And just so you know, those pics are taken at the GM headquarters (Tech Center) in Warren, MI, so they're not just some dealer's rims.

If they are taken at the GM Tech Center in MI then there is a good chance they could be test mules for a later car. Even if the "cobalt" is not renewed after 09, there is a good chance that another small car on the Delta platform would come out. So, using an already built Delta platform car as a mule makes perfect sense, as all they would need to do is chance the exterior sheet metal. (this would also explain why these cars have current model badging and paneling)

There was also that rumor going around that they cars have the LNF in them.

If these were infact taken at a GM location. They may very well be powertrane test mules for the "possible" 2009 LNF powered Cobalt. Just using current production sheet metal and squeezing a new motor under the hood.

No doubting those are sick rims though.

notice the stock tags in the corners of the windshield, they look like they are on a lot, and there are no 08's anywhere so its probably a dealer thing. Those wheels do look sweet though.

Like others have said, I'm putting my money on powertrain/electronics mules for a later car. LNF? Maybe, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

is it possible they could have a bunch of 07s left over that they are badging as 08?

correct me if im wrong, but the cavalier was done in 04 right? i remember about a year or 2 ago seeing an 05 cavalier at the dealership.
