Next set of tires?
Next set of tires?
The Pirelli PZero tires that came on the SS seem to be very good, but with the way many of us drive we will be due for a new set before too long. Does anyone know what they will buy when the time comes? Although I like the Pirelli tires, I don't think I want to spend that much money on my next set. I'm thinking Kumho Ecsta SPT.
bridgestone potenzas 950 225/40/18 or 235 40 19
bridgestone wideoval s03 21545 18
or if i can still get some discount on BFS scorcher k01 215/45/18 or 225/40/18
it is an 18x7 wheel so i dunno how wide will fit with the strut and fenderwell rubbage? Any one test fit a 19 or 20 yet?

My brother owns a tire distribution center , he deals mainly in Toyo and is very good friends with their rep. So when he buys them for himself or me he gets them for I'd say atleast over 50% off. A couple years ago when I had my ZR-2 S-10 I cut a couple tree stumps out for him and he gave me a bad a$$ set of Toyo off road tires and they were kick ass. I just was not sure about their street tires.
All I've done so far is a quick search on tirerack.com and there are only 5 different sets of tires that came up that could fit the stock SS wheels. I'm torn between the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A and the Bridgestone Potenza S-02's. I've never driven on either, but I did like the RE950's I had on my GTP.
you all want the The BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 tires they are good in rain and dry ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read the 40+ reviews they are only tires on site with this much feed back (tirerack.com) ive been waiting for my tires to go on my redline so i can get em 124 each, atleast they were last time i checked

I think I will go Nitto or BFG G-Force when they release the 215/45 sizes.
Playing around with tire size isn't worth it. Keep the stock size that way it looks right and handles better. The 215/45 is IMO perfect on this rim, bumping up to a 225 isn't going to icrease the width enough to be able to see the difference.

I will prob buy a nice set of all seasons for the winter of 06' and then I may go with a higher performance Pirreli summer 07' or maybe soemthin even better... who knows but I know i'll need some more tread come winter next year after i'm done with the stock tires all summer
