call gm supplier discount. get an authorization number.. but they are right its up to the dealer to honor it or not... if they are a platinum dealership they have to honor it... keep that in mind.. as for 4-6 weeks.. all SS SHOULD be here by that time being production starts this month

Why not try different dealers? Around here, there are so many Chevy dealers, that they really don’t want to loose anyone.

I'm getting the run around Cleveland though. I've been to three major Chevy dealers in town and I'm getting different answers from all of them. The one dealer I bought my 02 Cavalier from is telling me MAR-APR they'll start accepting orders and JUN-JUL deliveries.

On the GM Suppliersite they specifically say you get ~900 off MSRP for the Cobalt SS S/C.
You basically price one out in the GMBuypower site and at the end GM knocks off whatever you get via your discount. for me it was about ~900.

Classic Chevrolet in Mentor, OH is accepting orders for the Cobalt SS/SC. Go see Mark Calloway. I put my order in way back on August 10th.

What kind of "real GM ANSWERS" were you looking for?

The problem here is that GM does not sell vehicles, nary a one, never ever have they, nor will they ever.

DEALERSHIPS sell vehicles. Even a "Platinum" dealer can decide whether they do or they don't sell specific vehicles at GMS or Supplier. (Keep the two separate, because they are very different numbers)

Here's the thing... MSRP (or sticker price) is exactly that... Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price. GM SUGGESTS the price that the dealers sell them at. Heck, it's even possible that a specific dealer could sell all of their cars for $1 (Canadian, not US, because that would just be stupid ) and it would be THEIR money they would lose.

We've all seen vehicles that sell OVER sticker, the C6 Vettes, the SSR's when they first came out. How, you ask, can you sell something OVER sticker? Sticker's just that... MSRP.

I'm not surprised that dealerships don't sell them for GMS, remember the first rule of Econ 101... Supply and Demand... those are the two things that drive prices... the high demand combined with the low supply means the prices are high.

That's in the business bible, heck, dealerships would sell them all for a ba-jillion dollars (yes, canadian) if somebody would buy them at that price... but we (and yes, I'm a dealer and I think I can sell it for sticker) think there are more buyers than vehicles and SOMEBODY's bound to pay more for it than GMS.

If you're talking pricing... you should all refer to my post here https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/family-friends-discount-1073/.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents (no, not canadian)
