Entire body kit, Fe5 suspension, new engine(or work done to existing), exhaust, tires, wheels. Honestly by the time its all said and done, it would probably be cheaper to sell yours and buy a used SS.

If you are swaping engines you will need the wiring harness too. Probably easiest to buy a wrecked ss to get all the parts.

You might want to male sure if it gets wrecked/stolen that insurance will cover your mods. They probably just fix back to stock and you are out money on everything you did and didn't tell them about. Don't forget the lowered resale too.

this is incorrect. I only pay 95 bucks a month for my vic. red ss coupe. That's the worst color to have. Then again, I'm almost 30, never got a ticket on my record, and I've never been in a wreck. If you're paying 23 bucks a month for your 2.2, then you're my hero.

Now, if you really still want to move forward with this project, then it's going to be a little more than just swapping stuff. For example, the lug pattern and suspension between the 2.2 and 2.0 vehicles are different, so you would have to consider swapping that over. The wiring, bcm, and pcm are different as well. And unless you really want to deal with re-wiring a car, it's a project which many have taken on, and have all said "I will never do it again". If you're an automatic, there's never going to be a way for you to marry a 2.0 engine block to that transmission. There also may be potential problems with ac lines and coolant lines needing to be re-routed as well, and then you still have to prep the bay like any regular ss guy (tranny mounts, tensioner fix, etc.).

If it is insurance that your are worried about, I bought my car (ss/sc) in 2006 brand new and have paid about $90 on it for full coverage since than. If not and you just want a project car to work on than i wish you the best of luck.

If you worried about insurance cost. Forget every boosted car. I mean seriously??? Get an Ion Redline. It's considered a 4door for insurance and it's the same as a Cobalt SS/SC. damn noobs

My point exactly. If he's worried about insurance being $20 more a month. He definatly can't afford all the work/time involved in making a NA into boosted.

As stated it would be cheaper and easier to just buy an ss. If you are just looking for more performance and not trying to make an ss clone then you could go turbo or supercharged and build the motor, etc. To actually make your car into something that is identical to an ss you will need motor, trans, harness, ECM, body kit, wheels, axles, brakes, hubs, suspension, and completely redo the interior. Basically to transform it into the ss you will be rebuilding the entire car. Or you can make a sleeper out of what you've got. Whichever you decide just do what make you happy. And as for it being forbidden, that's only if you put on the ss body kit and try to pass it off as a true ss, which is frowned upon (like masturbating on an airplane )
