Just a qucick question here. Do you guys have any engine noise in your SS/SC's? What would your guidelines be for determing an abnormal sound?

I just ask because recently, I've noticed a new faint high pitched whistle type noise to my engine that was never there before. It's present at the same volume pretty much through all RPMs, but it varies in pitch with engine RPM.

The sound is similar to the super charger wine, but fainter. All you need to do is start the car and you can hear it at stationary idle so it's not wind noise or anything.

My girlfriend cannot hear it. While I was at the dealership with my sunroof fiasco I asked them to look into it. The mechanics couldn't hear it either. Too much noise around the garage becaue I couldn't hear it while there either. however, as soon as I left on down the road I could hear it again.

They lubed the belt for me as that was one suspect we both agreed on. Didn't do anything though.

So, do you guys get any weird or odd sounds to your engine? How about a faint whistle like that?

I don't think it's anything to worry about since nobody else has been able to hear it but me. It seems to come from teh belt side of the engine. I don't suspect any intake poblem or I'd hear it on the other side. It's probably nothing, but I have been so paranoid lately with this car.
