oh wise forum guru's teach me

ok so I have been wondering this for a long time what exactly is the Evap system? what does it do? how does it do it? when does it do it? what benifits are there to using it? is it purly for emissions? what are the diferent parts of the system? sorry for all the nube questions I only want to be informed and to further my understanding of the cobalt

From: Ontario, Canada.
It's all emissions. It takes gas vapors and puts them thru the charcoal cannister white then dumps into tank and engine under certain conditions.

interesting why is it beter for emissions if the gas vapors are coleted and then injected into the engine? and what are the conditions for the system to dump the vapors?

gas vaporizes in your gas tank and build pressure. When you open you gas cap you release harmful gas in vapor form into the atmosphere and destroy ozone, LOL.
