So i did the custom over the axle 2.5" coversion in the ecxaust and i droped the resonator. I have a muffler on there rite now, just a cheap can, yes i know shame shame on me lol, obviously with no resonatot its quite loud so can you guys point me in the rite direction for a lower sounding but good sounding muffler. thx

I kept the resonator, put a Magnaflow muffler on along with the 2.5" piping, and it sounds pretty good. Very little drone while crusing, not too loud unless I get on it. I can do a sound clip if needed.

i would say magnaflow or tsudo (i also heard flowmaster mufflers sound quite nice with the balt)

how much power loss dose the stock res have? Did i gain any by taking it off or just a bunch of noise?

you didnt lose anything. a res is a straight flowthrough. you gained a bunch of noise

I heard a few Magnaflows and they sound really good. That would be my choice.

i have no res and a obx-r can but i like mine loud...very deep too

mine is realy deep but just to loud, hard on the head for the road trips. Like the moan but not the loudness.

with 4 cylinder cars, resonators are your friend.

put it back on, and slap whoever told you to take it off

I have the 2 1/2" Magnaflow catback (includes resonator) and it sounds really good for a 4 cylinder. Nice deep tone in the lower RPMs and opens up pretty good in the higher RPMs.

i have an edlebrock muffler and no resonator and mine has a pretty deep sound.
