Okay Forum, Need a Help on a Mod Decision...

I've got $160 burning a hole in my pocket, and I can't figure out what to do...

Anyone out there got any Ideas for a cheap, Effective Styling or Performance mod?

I've been tossing around the idea of getting my subs enclosed in a different box to free up a lot of trunk space, but not sure...

Any suggestions are welcome... Please help a guy out here.

Thanks,
Steven

Intake, intake, intake. There is nothing better to do with 200.00 or less on a car it sounds better and performs better, and better mpg. Or some lowering springs both would work if it was me in your shoes.

or you could go to the "how to" page and paint your head lights, black your tail lights, and do a lot of stuff that you prob. aren't even thinking of! but if you want to spend money on an actual mod, i would agree with glockglade and buy an intake, some may be a lil' bit more but hell it is a grear upgrade

A friend of mine just told me to toss around an Idea at ya'll... Remember the Old Yenko Camaro Stripes? The ones that went down the side of the 60s camaros and then flowed with the bodylines at the rear? He said I should look into that, with a Black out portion between the Tail Lights like on the Charger R/T's I was thinking this might look cool, but I wanted to see what ya'll thought first.

I was also thinking of Removing the Resonator in the fender, and getting some Spectra piping from the stock filter box to the Throttle Body. Then getting a can of VHT Night Shades and High Gloss Clear Coat and tinting the rears a few shades then the headlamps just enough so you know they are tinted, with some Eyelids painted on too.

So many mods so little money!!!

What is your goal with your car?

If you don't know, save it until you figure out what you want to do with it.

My goal is Looks with a Little performance mods to help Gas Mileage...this is a 2.2, not a 2.0 or 2.4...its the econobox engine...and I plan to keep it like that. I just want some good looks, and sound, and a little bit more out of the car so I know I'll be getting good gas mileage

MRZ has a kickass deal on their brushed strut bar right now. It would add some looks to your engine bay and will help sturdy up the car in the twisties a bit. You will have some money left over so you could paint your engine cover or polish the valve cover if you wanted. Then you'd have a nice looking engine bay.

Acutally if you are all out building a cobalt you have "the" engine. Its the one gm uses for the 1400hp fwd 6second race cobalt. Just something to tell your freinds with honda civics or whatever, but I don't think I would like the stripes but remember it's YOUR balt and no-one else's do what you want to do with your car make it YOUR own.

This is a link to the Yenko Style Stripes... I think they look cool, but I'd have to get some made with Pontiac G5 as the wording and not Cobalt

HAHAHAHA I just realized too, that that car is a G5 with the Word Cobalt on the side LMAO

That's kind of misleading to say to someone

Yeah, it's based after his engine but so is the LSJ. If anyone had GMs backing, professional drivers, professional technicians/engineers building a race car, yeah you're going to be able to make something like that.

Not saying you're wrong but I don't think someone should walk around and brag about their motor saying it "could" make 1400 HP. Any engine could with the right money and mind behind it.

Either get an intake, or get your windows tinted.

The intake is probaby the better bet though. Not only will you be increasing your performance, but your car will have a meaner sound to it after the mod.

edit: just noticed you already have tint. go for the intake

Well guys, Thanks for the help...today I went out and got the Spectra Intake stuff that a few have been doing on here... and I took out the Resonator in the fender, so basically I got an Air Raid type set up, I'm sucking in Cold air from the fender area, but without all the restriction of the other stuff... It does sound a little louder on the outside. And I got to say, for $70 it picked up quite a bit in throttle response and it is a LOT smoother on the acceleration. Before you could feel the rough spots in the power band...they're almost completely gone.

So to those of you out there that done this Spectra intake mod, THANKS! and to those of you who said go with the intake, Thanks.

Also, noticed that at cruising speed on the FL turnpike, my foot is lighter on the throttle than before, and it pulls a lot harder... No more having to drop her to fourth to get up a hill, it just keeps chugging with no strain... CHEAP ASS MODS FTW!

If you're sitting stock... first mod should be intake. A little more power... a little more sound... a little more bling under the hood... all for a little cash.
