One of the First SS's to hit florida

Bill Heard in Plant city has a SS for sale. I was quoted by a dealer $28,000 for it.

no thanks, I'll wait or go somewhere else.

yeah I dont think so for 28K I will go and buy a GTO or something else. My dealership better not even try to markup my car.

Ouch 28K is quite a markup over MSRP.

I thought GM doesn't have control over what each dealer charges?

well just think of it this way..... if the get $28k for it, it was the right price for the current time period, if not chances are they will get more than MSRP for it since they started so high.

I don't think 28 grand is that bad for a vehicle that isn't scheduled for release for another four or five months.

If it's an SS that is.

An SS/SC is a totally different story.

Villain your confusing me. the Cobalt SS is an SS/SC. you cant get an SS without the SC right now.

Exactly. You're not confused at all. Nor will you ever be able to get a factory SC without the SS.

However calling the vehicle that is currently in Florida simply a "SS" is a misnomer. Kinda like calling a great white shark a "fish." While techincally correct, you're not telling the whole story accurately.

Im going to have to say thats being a little to picky....
its not like where back in the days when they made RS, SS, RS/SS, Z28 and offered like 4 power plants, diff type shifters. its a coupe with one SS option, one power plant, and one tranny.

Though, eventually, there will be a 2.4lL SS.

maybe i should have put the year of the car then it would not have gotten confused with a future model that isnt for sale now....like if the 2006 has just the SS option, or the 2100 SS/TTC model that has time travel capability?

Dont worry, Villian is a douchebag, he does this like 40 times a day. He goes into threads where it just says "SS" (instead of SS/SC) and plays stupid like everyones talking about the 2.4L. He loves to do this to feel smart.

Not necessary. The SS Cobalt will be out shortly and there are often Auto Shows that have them. There have been pictures of SS/SC Cobalts in Canada and around the Great Lakes areas that have been out for months.

So if you had seen an SS Cobalt on the streets in Florida, then it would have been an appropriate title. However what was seen was an SS/SC in Florida, which would make it a totally different story.

As I said in my original post.

I disagree.
All he's trying to do is make sure we use the proper description for the car you're talking about.
It might seem dumb now, but once the SS's come out, people are gonna get their heads bit off when they're talking about the SS and people assume they mean the SS/SC.

I'm waiting for the first "douchebag" to show up demanding an SS. Then to complain when I show them what they asked for.

Some people are never happy. Some people are never smart. I hate it for those who are both.

The three different models were all announced to me at the same time. I can't guarantee that you knew about them at the same time, but I've known about them for almost a full year now.

Now can we please stay on topic.
