OnStar

I think I finally found the car I am going to be getting next month. Its an Orange SS/SC with all options (including G85) except for OnStar. When i went out this time around looking for a car I told myself I would get every option so I would have no regrets like I did with my 2.4 (lol Sorry 2.4 guys). However this is the only orange ss/sc in the pittsburgh area with the G85.

Do you guys think the OnStar is worth it to go to somewhere like 2-3 hours away, or even ordering one, and get a car that has it? Thats even assuming there is another orange ss/sc in the state with the G85. The one plus to not having OnStar is not having that pointy ass stub on the roof, I will just have a small square for my XM.

I also kinda feel iffy buying a car that has been sitting on the lot, I know that is the one they probably use to test drive since its right there outside, and its probably been beaten by salesmans and others, but whatcha going to do.

i like HAVEING onstar...the antenna on the roof isnt bad...it lines up with the lil XM fin... but honestly its not something i would go out of my way to get... If you can get a nice deal on it i wouldnt worry about OnStar...i wasn't planning on getting onstar and i havent used it yet... My free year is up in July (it was a roll over from the last owner..) ... im not sure if im gunna renew it...

Cool, sounds useless for me. Plus I heard that they randomly call you asking to upgrade your service of something of that sort. Is this true?

This is the only orange one I can find so I am taking it, lol.

only benefit to onstar imo is it lowers your insurance slightly.... but honestly its not worth what it costs.... its like an exta 900 bucks or some **** with a 3 month subscription.. whoop dee doo. i had it on my avalanche but once it expired never reactivated it and never had a reason too. i mean if u really cant change your own tire if it pops or lack a cell phone maybe its for you... other than that its just for soccor moms and pussies like i said

I got to tell you being used to having navigation in my other vehicles I think it comes in handy. I got lost the other day and called them and a really nice woman talked me all the way to where I need to go. I would not really go out of my way to get a car that had it, but it is nice since it came on my car. For the record I am neither a soccer mom or a *****...and FYI for state farm onstar does not lower your insurance.

I always have a Thomas Guide under my seat, even though I've never had to use it, since I have pretty much the whole thing memorized.

some insurance companies will offer a slight break on insurance due to the tracking capabilities of onstar incase your car gets stolen
