Opening trunk with spoiler?

Is it safe to open the trunk by lifting up on the spoiler once it's popped. I never thought it was a problem until a friend told me I could damage it. Is this true? I have never had a problem but i do in fact lift the spoiler on average once a day to get into the trunk.

I use the low rise to lift all the time, the lid doesn't pop up far enough to get my fingers under it

I lift under the lid and use the black rectangles to close it. I think I do it that way because mine s black and that **** scratches so easy.

I really don't know how lifting on it is going to loosen something that's bolted on.

I lift with mine all the time, although in my mind thinking about it, I tend to use the side supports rather than lifting in the middle.

Won't loosen the wing but it may bend/scratch the trunk. Have had a low rise on 2 cars now and both of them have had a slight warp at the leading edge of where the supports are adhered to the trunk.

i lift right in the middle (high rise) have been for 2 years no problems

people are always freaking out about these things saying they rust and what not

one time i got stuck in the snow and my buddy said hed bounce the back of my car to get me out

then i realized he had been pushing down on the center of the high rise about 40 times
no problems whatsoever though

I loosen form the little gap created after popping the trunk. I just don't want something like it being pulled off to actually happen.

When I had the high rise using the spoiler to open the trunk broke the adhesive lose on one side and broke a stud out of the spoiler.

use the trunk. the ******* who had my car before me used the wing as a handle and basically lifted the spoiler and tape away from the trunk deck

but use the wing to close the trunk to make sure it doesnt vibrate after it shuts

I'm actually surprised that people are pulling their spoilers off their trunk by doing this. Cause like I said...I tried ACTUALLY removing my spoiler and it was a bitch. I unbolted and STILL spent like half the day working on it.

I was just gonna say. God damn people if you've seen the adhesive they use on the wings you'd laugh for even thinking your petty hands would have an effect

I pull the spoiler just a little, just enough so I can get my fingers under the trunk and lift. My fingers are too big to fit if it's closed :lol;
