Exclamation opinions on this 05 ss/sc!!

the only decent ss around my price range they were selling anywhere around my area was this car.
its a 2005 ss/sc
has about 64k miles. motor is all bone stock. has some minor upgrades like
halo lights, smoked taillights. i think these r the recaro seats.
they are black and red. real nice.
i got the guy to let it go for 7k.
its a rebuilt but i drove it, it runs good, shifts smooth.
the exterior was really good except for some chips on the front bumber, and the interior was super super nice! by the pics can anyone tell if this car has the g85 lsd option?
i think it does cuz of the recaros, but not even sure.
also, what really has stopped me at the moment was the check engine light was on, he told me it was something with the gas tank??? wtf...
also, after i drove the car and i was pulling up at his driveway, i felt a wierd noise, like if the belt was rubbing on a platic or something, but i did feel the clutch, motor, and tranny real good and strong.
any suggestions?? you guys think its a good buy?? again its the only car around me, i drove 200 miles round trip just to go see this car.
also anyone know is this has the g85 package, or any suggestions on what these noises can be. any help is really appreciated!! thanks!!!

You paid $7k for a rebuilt 05 with an unknown cel and weird noises?

Isn't the option sticker in the trunk under the carpet?

Those aren't recaros. LSD transmissions say LSD on them.

Its not a G85 they have recaros in them and the seats say recaro it could have an aftermarket lsd but can't tell without taking it apart and if its making a weird noise id say stay away from it unless its something cosmetic

Ask him if you can take it to like Auto Zone or wherever and have the code read. Don't take the seller's word for it. He may mean it has and evap code, but verify it.

$7k seems steep for an R titled car with an unknown CEL (in some states a CEL is an automatic inspection failure) and that's making a noise. As others said, those are the standard seats, not Recaros.

Your call, but I would be leary of it.

yea autozone that ****! otherwise its up to you, it looks clean and how it runs is up to you but 7k doesn't seem too bad!

yea bro im for sure taking it to autozone. the car ran pretty dam good. clean as hell for a rebuilt.
and that sound was for like a minute, coming from the belt. which i am going to check as well before buying it. if those things come through good, im pretty sure getting it.
i saw so many around my area and they were all freaking destroyed. and all other rebuilts looked like they put the parts together in their backyards and painted with spray paint.
and i think 7k is a pretty good deal. IMO

I got my rebuilt 2006 SS/SC with G85/Recaros at 52,000mi (totalled at 981mi, so was driven for 51,000+ since its rebuilt). Everything in immaculate condition and driven by a girl since it being rebuilt, for 6500$. I'd say keep looking imo

i know theres a lot of rebuilts that were actually built right. this one looks real good compared to others. here in miami, the prices are pretty high for cars. great buy thought! thats for sure.

That USUALLY goes away after you tighten the gas cap. If it doesn't go away on its own, if he'd reset it it *shouldn't* come back unless there's a problem with the purge solenoid.

NAHHH! imo...

im thinking this is going to be one of those cars that will have problems down the road...

SSs are beat on hard, and rarely taken good care of... from what i have seen, mostly the ss/sc...

people these days just dont know how to take care of a car...

That's in really good shape for a 05! And if the seats say recaro then you have the g85 package, unless the guy switched them out for the leather/red seats
