Orange SS

Hey I have been in and out of alot of the posts trying to decide on what I want to do. Tonight I am going to look at a 2006 Orange Cobalt SS...

Here is the link to the site that the car is on

( go to the right side of the page and hit chevy for the make, and search )
http://davidmaustoyota.com/Preowned-...ory-Third.aspx

C&C welcome as always, any advice on what to look for, as in stage to or lsd or any other mods. Kinda new to the cobalt world.

Sorry cant get a direct link to it.

Thanks

that's what loans are for. Same as if you went to a used car dealer. You need a loan and then you give the money to him, and make payments on the loan.

EDIT: I'm not a banker though, so don't quote me...lol.

LSD will have Recaro seats

Stage 2 will have blue bolts on the supercharger pulley.

I have been looking across the country for the right cobalt ss/sc i just recently got one for $13,200 with 32000 miles on it. But i do not believe ive seen an orange one yet. There are cobalts on ebay selling for little below $14,000 and if you get lucky there might be one close enough to pick up.

ok well here is the deal, I got their i drove the car only boosted to 5lb was taking it easy, we get into the show room and we start with numbers. I myself have no car credit at all so my GF was cosigning with me,
they wanted 16,900 has 26k and all that info that was posted above =(. Anyhow they stuck me at 12.99% APR pretty much bending me over and taking it in the ass... as we go on i have a 03 sunfire that i have worked hard and long to return back to stock to trade it in. they would give me 3600 for the car which mind u i still owe my parents for and they would take 2k of that and use it as down payment and 1600 back to me ( mind u i will still owe my parents 2k ) then we get to payments 379 a month for 66 months i told them to f*ck off and walked out...

GOOD BOY! I'm glad to hear that you told them to screw off. Thats WAAAY too much money for that car. The interest rate sucks bigtime. If I can offer you some advice. Try to find a certified car. The manufacturer will sometimes give a great interest rate. I got mine 2.9 for 60 months.

If you can afford it and get financing I'd say go for it.

I dunno man. How does the car you have right now run? I'd almost say keep it for a while and get a credit card and charge ONLY GAS to it. Then pay it off immediately. This will increase your credit score and wont cost you anything. Then when you are ready to get another car you will qualify for a lower interest rate. Also your taste in cars will change too. Honestly If I were to do it again I would not have gotten a supercharged cobalt.

Oh also return your car back to stock and sell all the parts. That should give you some extra cash to pay back the parents.

Christ, I just bought my 06 with UNDER 3,000 miles(yes three thousand) for 17k. It has recaros/limited slip. I could have found one a little cheaper but this car is MINT.

Shop around. I looked for MONTHS to find the perfect one before I made the purchase. I even got a great interest rate too - 4.99%

oh, PS.. pay mom back before you buy a new car Family debt = HORRIBLE!

I feel your pain casper. They're are not many of these cars used in florida, well especially when I was looking. Things might have changed. To give you an idea I got an 06 with 23k for 14,5k. I looked for about 2 months and only about 4 total showed up in autotrader.

Only thing wrong was it had a medium sized dent close to the roof, looks like the previous owner tried to tie something to the roof at one time maybe who knows. but i just wanted to tell you because that factored slightly in the cost. Good luck to ya.
