Orderin the Cobalt SS/SC tomorrow HELP!!!
Tomorrow, im gonna order my car. Now i just wanna know how much you have to put down and what you have to sign? Are you obligated to buy that car and will they hold it for you as long as you need? I wanna Cobalt with the LSD and no other options, which is not available pretty much anywhere
And i need help choosin the color inserts on a black Cobalt. What do you think of red inserts? And no im not in the bloods
I had another thread and was gonna get a blue car with blue inserts but then someone showed me a pic with the inserts and it looked not cool so i deleted it so i could make another poll

First timer, eh?
You can put down as much as you want to; remember, the more you pay as a down payment the less you have to finance. Have you talked to the dealer yet? Specifically, what kind of interest rate are they giving you, are you paying more or less than invoice, and how much? Do you have a trade-in? How do you feel about paying extra for the extended warranty, rustproofing, fabric protector, etc. They have you sign about 20 pages so bring your good writing pencil. Shop around, you don't have to go to just one dealer.
Oh, and get the black inserts.

black is nice..but i think being different.wud b look sick. red inserts are sick. my buddy has them in his car..look sick. yet i have a 2.4 with all black. so yeah if i owned a 2.0 i wud go w/ red inserts. the 2.0 are known for that two-tone interior. do it red!

I would go with all black.
As for buying a car, I needed to put a $100 deposit on the car when I ordered it. GMAC supposedly only lets you put down a certain amount when you actually put a down payment on the car. Originally, the car I chose was around 14000, so i could only put a max of 9500 down for payments of $250. I couldnt get the car so I ordered a new 07, which was around 16000, so they let me put down 10k instead, to keep my payments at 250/mo.
As long as you put down the deposit they ask for (should not be more than 100 - 500), they will hold the car for you.

Recaros are not an option anymore.
Yes, if you order it you gotta buy it.
And get the freakin side air bags! it may cost extra, but you shouldnt skimp on that especially!!!

deposit and down payment are different. i went to my dealer like 3 times, 1 to settle on a price, 2 to order and put a deposit, and 3 to pick up car, put down payment on it and financial crap.
Example:
I settle on a price of 19,200. I only put a 200 dollar deposit on it, they just want enough money to know that you will come back and buy it when it comes in. the deposit goes towards the downpayment when you buy the car. I put a 4,800 down payment on it, plus the 200 deposit and a 500 rebate which brought it to 5,500. Then you are directed to the financing consultant that finds the best deal for you. for financing look for no penelty early pay off and the lowest apr (obviously). My financing is 8.5% for 72 months= 270 payments, BUT, I am making at least $350, so hopefully i will have it payed off in half the time and avoid the extra arp. i choose the 72 months, $270 just incase i get fired or the **** hits the fan, then i wont be completly on my ass.
